cvgproj tag

In principle the tag is applied to everything related to computer and video games, including people who are active in the industry. This has long been done like this for articles like Talk:Shigeru Miyamoto and Talk:John Carmack, so I recently went through the category Category:Computer and video game designers and added the template. Note that the template is also widely used on companies (for example Talk:Microsoft) and other categories. Hope that helps. If you disagree with these practices I suggest you raise it on the CVG discussion page. Cheers, JACOPLANE • 2007-01-9 07:00

With respect, some questions re "How does Peter know he caused explosion? - NOT A FORUM."

I'm new at wikipedia. I don't understand why I can't discuss an issue regarding the show Heroes(TV Series).

I think people are assuming a person explodes and that the person is Peter. I haven't seen, heard or read anything that conclusively settles this.

I'm not trying to start an argument with you. I'm just looking for some guidance on the criteria used to remove my serious question, that drew three responses in less than one day, with one person commenting "Yep, that is an interesting question - I've been wondering about this myself... "--Raymm 19:45, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

You answered me on my page. Where should I respond, here, or on my page? If I respond on my page, how will you know?--Raymm 21:29, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

RE:Cleanup

Tha main problem I think the article has is the huge lists at the bottom. They take up more space than the biography section - • The Giant Puffin • 13:37, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah the fact that he has acted for so long doesnt help lol. If theres nothing you can do, remove the tag. The article doesnt need much more work in terms of cleaning it up - • The Giant Puffin • 13:53, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Caca

Of course it's a fact. Note, however, that Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Dictionary definitions belong to Wiktionary, not on Wikipedia's disambiguation pages. Manual of style for disambiguation pages explicitly states that a Wiktionary link is sufficient and that dictionary definitions should not be included.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

AGF

My apologies with the revert at Judy Garland. I often use the Rollback function for reverting vandalism for recent changes that I've pretty much forgotten the AGF rollback. Again, I apologize for the inappropriate rollback. --Ozgod 23:23, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

UT3 Vehicles

Done. It's rather vague explanations, but it does it's job for the most part. Rake (talk) 23:58, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Mickey Rooney

Hi, I've had a look at the edits made by this editor, not just to the Mickey Rooney article, but to other articles, and there seems to be a completely lack of understanding of Wikipedia policies and principles. If it wasn't for this edit I'd say, give him/her the benefit of the doubt as they don't know what they're doing, but if they're going to make such a stupid comment, I'd be more inclined to just regard them as a nuisance or a troll. Have a look at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding reporting of improper behaviour, but also be mindful of WP:3RR. I've reverted but who knows how long that'll stick. Rossrs (talk) 14:09, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

It was reverted almost immediately, so I have given a warning. Talk page is full of warnings. Rossrs (talk) 14:28, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
It was an oversight. I do apologize. Wildhartlivie (talk) 21:57, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Its a question about info on the game which could help the article.HereFord 17:02, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

So ...where do you go to ask questions/talk about the Sims 3 game? o_o (LadyCakeage (talk) 08:43, 5 September 2008 (UTC))

Huey Lewis

You seem quite adamant about this [1] [2], but all I was doing was fixing the link so that it actually linked to the title of the article it was supposed to be linked to, the current title being The Power of Love (Huey Lewis and the News song). Your revert is especially ridiculous, as the capitalisation or otherwise was hidden behind a piped link and therefore invisible to readers.

If you think the title of that article is wrong (even though it's correct English), then you should fix that, not remove links to it. Removing valid links from pages damages the usefulness of the encyclopaedia. --RFBailey (talk) 04:40, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

The reason the link works both ways now is because I created a redirect [3]! In future, please don't be so quick with the "undo" button--make sure you're actually clear about what exactly what it is you're undoing before you press it. That sort of thing causes edit wars. --RFBailey (talk) 14:52, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Tag on the rude editor

I placed a tag on the rude editors talk page. I fully expect him to just delete him, but at least he knows that other editors have noticed what he has been doing.--Jojhutton (talk) 01:21, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

An update on the situation. Apologies for my decision on the BTTF article, it was incorrect. I hope you don't mind - let me know if you spot me doing this in the future! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 02:09, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi, you've done a nice job on the article so far. I'm looking forward to the game, it looks very promising! Regarding the article, I've re-organized it to conform more with other video game articles, which almost always features layouts similar to "Gameplay, Plot, Development, Reception", but Plot will probably be unnecessary for TS3. I've kept Gameplay, created Development and stuck the Music info under that heading, and created a Release section rather than Reception for now, which will have all of the information regarding the game's release there. Let me know if you have any questions or need help with the article; it'd be especially nice if the Development section could be expanded so that the article isn't talking too much about the gameplay and more about the real-world stuff. A lot of that is interesting, and also useful if the article is to attain a higher classification such as good article or even featured article some day. Thanks! Back to the Future apology

I was looking around through my talk page archives and remembered that brief BTTF incident. Anyway, I forgot to apologize for my public insult. Sorry for being a jerk. Wildroot (talk) 01:47, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: Mickey Rooney

This is not a new issue with that editor, Lyverbe. Please look at his talk page and the number of warnings and notes left about this sort of issue. He has a pattern of adding unreferenced, sometimes contentious material and original research/opinions. He also has a pattern of launching personal attacks when approached about such issues and one learns that discussion with this editor is futile. However, I'd take a small exception to violating 3RR, since it was added and reverted 3 times in 6 days, and each time I reverted it because it is not referenced and is a WP:BLP concern. If you can reason with the editor, please, please do. You might also see his general but contentious posting to his user page, most of which was said directly to me when he decided that editors who insisted on proper sourcing for the statement that Doris Day was American's most loved performer. Wildhartlivie (talk) 18:00, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for responding. I was hoping it wasn't because I reverted. As for his leaving - well, he said he quit after he gave up on making Doris Day the most beloved entertainer in America. I'll believe it when I see it! Wildhartlivie (talk) 19:54, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Einstein

Salut,

J'ai mis un mot sur la PDD de l'article Einstein (Retour vers le futur) de la wiki française. C'est bien une traduction. Comment fait-on dans les cas comme celui-ci, c'est-à-dire quand l'article a été transformé en redirection ? Shakki (talk) 17:12, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Links to french articles

All links to the french article of BTTF characters have been removed. WP:IL states that all translations must be "nearly equivalent or exactly equivalent" which is far from being the case of the french translation that only talks about the dog Einstein. Even though I remove this invalid french link from the english version of the article, bots keep adding it back because they match the link with the other articles. The only solution I could come up with is to remove all links to the french article.

Comments or other suggestions are welcome. -- Lyverbe (talk) 00:40, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that you have contributed a few times to this article, and wondered if you could help me. Recently I have been trying to clean it up, particularly with the addition of citiations. I am almost finished, but can not seem to find anything to verify most of the 'facts' in the 'Early days' section. Any suggestions ? Thanks,
