Proposed deletion of Karl Holland

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Karl Holland, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? brewcrewer (yada, yada) 02:09, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Karl Holland

[edit]

I have nominated Karl Holland, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Karl Holland. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? brewcrewer (yada, yada) 18:29, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Oxclose

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Oxclose, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Alphageekpa (talk) 22:22, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a bit to this article.Fingers crossed it will be kept now!!-- Myosotis Scorpioides 23:11, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Amy Leadbitter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. --Non-Dropframe talk 18:17, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sarah Eadon has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. — ξxplicit 03:57, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:JohnAndersonGladiators.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:JohnAndersonGladiators.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 17:53, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:SellMeTheAnswer Traders.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — CharlieEchoTango04:36, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, if you email someone you will draw less attention to the problem. Unfortunately for you, I went to bed and did not get your request in a timely manner. But i have hidden the text now. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:38, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

F1 car articles

[edit]

Hi MTracey1. Thanks for creating Ferrari 246 F1-66 and Brabham BT20. If you are planning to create any more F1 car articles, can you please ensure that the results tables conform to the WP:F1 standard table format. (I have updated Ferrari 246 F1-66 and Brabham BT20). Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 03:42, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi again MTracey1. FYI, the "Gran Turismo Wiki" and "F1 Wiki" links on your user page don't work (for me, anyway). Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 02:39, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Derek Warwick at the 1982 San Marino Grand Prix

[edit]

Hi MTracey1. I have reverted your changes to 1982 San Marino Grand Prix and Derek Warwick. Reliable sources such as formula1.com, grandprix.com and ChicaneF1 consider Warwick as a retirement, not a "DNS". If you believe a race result is incorrect, please start a discussion on the race report's talk page or at WT:F1, so that a consensus about the correct result may be reached and if a change is necessary, then all the affected articles can be updated. Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 04:55, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not aware of any previous discussion about Warwick at the 1982 San Marino Grand Prix. Given that the result at ManipeF1 differs from what formula1.com, grandprix.com and ChicaneF1 say, I think it's worth having a discussion. (That way, if it's questioned again in the future, we can point to the discussion and say "we discussed this in December 2012 and the outcome was <whatever>"). For maximum visibility, I suggest starting the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Formula One - start a new section and outline why you think the result should be "DNS" instead of "Ret", and we'll see what develops. 1984 Brazilian Grand Prix

[edit]

What makes you think the standings tables did not match other 1984 grand prix articles? --Falcadore (talk) 07:08, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you had actually calculated the points, you would have seen that your assumption is incorrect and the points for the other articles do include Tyrrell's points up until the point that they were disqualified. Perhaps you should have confirmed this before assuming otherwise? --Falcadore (talk) 16:35, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you really think final declaration of results is delayed for six months, or more, on the off chance that FISA/FIA might decide to disqualify a team and re-assign the points in races they had competed in? On that assumption no race would ever be declared final even 50 years later. --Falcadore (talk) 16:53, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
