Welcome![edit]

Hello, MaayanLustig88, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Amit Gefen, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hello Jmertel23, thank you for your review! The page Amit Gefen is no longer an orphan, it is now redirected from the page of Tel Aviv University. I also added categories.

Regarding conflict of interest, I want to declare that I have no conflict of interest at all. I know Prof. Amit Gefen from Tel Aviv University, he is a very respected and highly ranked researcher. In addition, the content written on his page are only facts (such as Amit's prizes and roles). None of the text is in any way an opinion or can be written in a biased manner. In addition, my user name (MaayanLustig88) indicates my real personal name (Maayan Lustig). Therefore I would like to ask to remove the COI tag from Amit Gefen's page. If anything else is required, such as external review, please let me know (I would also love to know how can it be done? how can I ask it).

Regarding the External links, I have thoroughly read the page and instructions, but I don't understand which of the links is not linked correctly. Can you please help me find the links that are not linked correctly?

Thank you so much! Maayan

Hi MaayanLustig88, I'm afraid your question is based on an article that will be deleted as a promotional copyright violation, per the messages below. It doesn't seem possible to answer this request. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:33, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Amit Gefen, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
  • It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You've claimed twice now that you took the photos of Gefen and yet have no conflict of interest, the first was a professional photo uploaded to his own website. Please explain how you became the copyright holder of these images. Thanks. Praxidicae (talk) 18:44, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am new to Wikipedia and consented to the deletion of the problematic file. As I wrote, I already uploaded a new photo of Amit which is personally mine.
Do you have the original photo to provide meta data? What about the first photo? You claimed to have taken it, is that not the case? What about the text you copied and pasted? Praxidicae (talk) 19:04, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:AG Photo for Wikipedia.tif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

orphaned image, no encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
