Warning

[edit]

Please do not delete reports at WP:EWN. You're not permitted to, and is likely to result in a block. — Czello (music) 09:03, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, please don't start any new reports - there's one that already exists so you can join in the discussion there. Retaliatory reports don't look good, not least because they're malformed. — Czello (music) 09:14, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 12:49, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Working together with other editors is mandatory

[edit]

Regarding this message at WP:NPOVN, specifically I won't join the discussion here unless… If you refuse to engage in discussion, then you also need to refrain from editing the article(s) in question. Given that you returned from a block for edit warring to resume the edit war, behaviour that shows refusal to cooperate and persistence in edit warring would justify an extended block. —C.Fred (talk) 04:19, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am still discussing, but in the talk page of the articles in question. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 04:23, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of reference

[edit]

Please explain the removal of reference in Penang [1] and replacing with unverified presentation slides which didn't appear to meet WP:RS guidelines. hundenvonPG (talk) 08:51, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't think the previous resource did not say anything regarding the GDP of Greater Penang, and how you derived that US$ 13.5 billion? All I saw is just the GDP contribution of George Town. Thus, I replaced it with a more reliable and verified source from Khazanah Nasional (originally from World Bank site). Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:11, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there is not limitation to the form of source as stated in Wikipedia. Presentation slides can also be accepted as long as it is from a Reliable source. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:14, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
1. Per WP:RS, where does it say that Presentation slides can also be accepted as long as it is from a Reliable source?
2. It does not explain why you had removed the current source from World Bank.
3. If more reliable means taking a presentation slide wholesale with no verification of its contents, you are misunderstanding the meaning of reliable source. Example: where was the data for urban areas derived from in your presentation slide?
4. Unlike your presentation slide, the World Bank report included methodologies how the numbers were derived. In light of this, the World Bank data holds more authority. hundenvonPG (talk) 09:22, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please refer [2], pages 16 and 17.
Also, I noticed you were engaging in behaviour suggesting of edit warring instead of consensus. Desist or I shall be obliged to make a report. hundenvonPG (talk) 09:25, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Find the relevant support in the PDF or other source that say US$ 13.5 billion and second largest contributor. Or I shall be obliged to make a report. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:28, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest you to either follow my edit or just simply remove that sentence. Unrelevant/Inaccurate sentence shall be removed or I will report to the admin. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:33, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Same question to you, where does it say that Presentation slides cannot be accepted if it is from a Reliable source?
  2. Because the source does not support the statement to claim the GDP of Greater Penang (if you found it in the pdf, please tell me the page number)
  3. That is not my presentation slide, it is from World Bank.
  4. If you are not satisfied, please just remove that sentence since it is not supported in the source.
Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:26, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I had already shown the source. Please read page 16 and 17. The methodology is present, unlike the presentation slides you insist to replace. hundenvonPG (talk) 09:38, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you just quote the sentence here, I am not sure whether I am on the same page with you. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:40, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly you could look for relevant numbers and sentences, like what you are trying to demonstrate here? The pages are already mentioned? hundenvonPG (talk) 09:44, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You mean from that blurry image? Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:47, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure what methodology you are referring to and what is indeed lacking in that slides?
Do you think a image which you can't even read clearly and properly can be a more reliable source than the slides with clear figures? And do you know that image is cited from other source also? Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:54, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Moreover, I am not sure if you noticed it, in the pdf that you insist to remain, it does say that JB has larger GDP contribution than George Town (not the conurbation) to the national GDP. But I still did not see any figure that say 13.5 billion and second largest. Unrelevant source cannot be used to support FYI. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:32, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Prose is about conurbation, not JB vs George Town. Before calling it unrelevant, I suggest you look at your own presentation slides first. hundenvonPG (talk) 09:39, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
True, but maybe calling the slides unverified is also your own opinion only. Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:41, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unverified as your presentation slides did not mention where the data came from. Thw World Bank is unrelevant, that is unfortunately your own POV. hundenvonPG (talk) 09:45, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And how do the data in your pdf come from? Malaysia Skyline (talk) 09:56, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, this research from World Bank (in collaboration with Khazanah Nasional) has been well cited in many other journals and academic research papers from USM and UiTM.
