August 2012

[edit]

Hello, I'm Escape Orbit. I noticed that you made a comment on the page User talk:Dwaipayanc that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it’s one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Escape Orbit (Talk) 19:18, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify things more, one group of editors (anonymous editor) are trying sensationalize the portion by giving every minute details of those scenes with some wordpess reference, wrong formatting etc. In talk page we tried to reach a consensus that we'll not write in a hysterical erotic tone (what those IPs are doing) and then we made a summary of the portion with good references. We did to stop that anonymous editor. Now if you remove that summarized portion too, they have good scope to re-insert the portion with the point that article does not have anything about it. Is not it? BTW, the article is again protected! --Tito Dutta 20:15, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your comment at Talk:Mushrooms (film)

[edit]

Hi Manoj, could you please clarify this comment you made at Talk:Mushrooms (film)? It seems to me like you're saying that you uploaded File:Still from Chatrak - Paoli Dam and Anubrato.png so that you could get either the central or state government to take legal action against you (with the aim of changing film censorship laws). If so, please note that WIkipedia is not the place for legal disputes. If you want to challenge the laws, please do it outside of Wikipedia, and don't use it as a channel to facilitate legal action. Be warned that per Wikipedia:No legal threats, any action that could get Wikipedia (and its editors) involved in a legal issue is likely to get you blocked, to prevent damage or deterioration to the project. === reply ===

It was only partly that - the possible legal thing. The primary purpose was that I believe it belongs to the chatrak article in an encyclopedia.

Any way, the issue is academic now: Ms Dam has requested me to rewmove both stills, she has very decently made it clear that it is a request, not an order.

So, I have removed both stills. Because ethically speaking Ms Dam has a veto on this issue.

regards,

Manoj Pandey

OK then. I have deleted the files File:Paoli in chatrak.png and File:Still from Chatrak - Paoli Dam and Anubrato.png per CSD criteria F5 and also per your request here. Chamal TC 08:40, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:20, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No worries!

[edit]

Hello there ! Don't worry, I was perfectly relaxed; your comments didn't irritate or upset me at all, in fact I think it important that other individuals express their opinions regarding the articles on their talk pages. Best, Midnightblueowl (talk) 23:57, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Having been here on Wikipedia here for seven years now, I've noticed a strong U.S.-centrism underlying many, many articles. A significant number of editors seem to be of the opinion that mainstream U.S. media (and by extension other western media outlets) are an entirely objective, accurate source of information, which they most certainly aren't. More innocently perhaps, articles on episodes of U.S. television shows often fail to mention in the introductions that they are American, assuming that being a U.S. citizen was some sort of global norm.
