Theosophy RFC
Could you find time to help comment on Theosophy talk page? I just added an RFC. Thanks! JEMead (talk) 16:55, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Request for comment on Theosophy page and Theosophy Talk page
Hello,
An editor of the Theosophy article and its Talk page created a Request for Comment involving both the article and its Talk page. Now I'm asking five to ten uninvolved editors from the religion/philosophy section of Wikipedia:Feedback request service to comment on the Theosophy Talk page.
If you are able and willing to comment that would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Factseducado (talk) 23:08, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Miniapolis! I want to thank you for copyediting the LSC v. Velazquez article! I've waited five months...and the results are awesome! You caught a great deal of positive fixes, and I'm very appreciative. Best wishes, Lord Roem (talk) 18:33, 7 May 2012 (UTC) |
- Thanks very much; you didn't even give me a chance to leave a note on your talk page! :-) Sorry for the delay, and best of luck with the FA process; it's an excellent article, and I look forward to seeing it as an FA. All the best, Miniapolis (talk) 18:40, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Croatia-Slovenia border disputes
Hi. Umm... I had been copyediting that article on and off, and it's what I'm down as "working" on - I tend to alternate between working on a long project and doing short articles. I believe the normal procedure in such cases is for each person to take credit; see the FAQ. (Of course, if I don't find I have anything more to do after you finish, I certainly won't claim any credit - I had only gone over the lead and part of the first section.) Allens (talk | contribs) 21:26, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- I took it because it was in the backlog and had no {{GOCE in use}} tag; without the tag, there's no practical way to tell which articles are being copyedited and which are not (it's just too time-consuming to check the edit history of every article and try to figure out what's going on). Since you apparently want to continue working on the article, I'll finish the section I'm working on, remove the {{GOCEinuse}} tag and move on to another article. I suggest tagging articles you're working on, though, and working on one article at a time; the rest of us aren't mind-readers :-). Have fun and all the best, Miniapolis (talk) 21:40, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry about that! If you'd like to handle it that way, that's fine too. I took the article mainly because I've gained some experience with articles related to Croatia and the Adriatic Sea region in general because of past Requests copyedits. I see your point; I'll try to constrain myself not to wander (ADD makes it a bit difficult at times, despite medications... not an excuse, of course, just a comment). Allens (talk | contribs) 22:01, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- No, I understand; it's dead boring doing a 6,000-word article in one fell swoop :-). Yes, there seem to be quite a few Croatia-related articles on the Requests page; I've only done one so far (I think—it's hard to remember), which was why I took this one. But no problem at all; I try to mix up long and shorter articles, since sometimes a long article that needs a lot of work can tie you down for days (although this one looks pretty good in that respect!). All the best, Miniapolis (talk) 22:47, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

GOCE May mid-drive newsletter
Guild of Copy Editors May 2012 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter
Participation: Out of 49 people signed up for this drive so far, 26 have copy-edited at least one article. It's a smaller group than last drive, but we're making good progress. If you've signed up but haven't yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: We're on track to meet our targets for the drive, largely due to the efforts of Lfstevens and the others on the leaderboard. Thanks to all. We have reduced our target group of articles—January, February, and March 2011—by over half, and it looks like we will achieve that goal. Good progress is being made on the overall backlog as well, with over 500 articles copy-edited during the drive so far. The total backlog currently sits at around 3200 articles. Hall of Fame: GOCE coordinator Diannaa was awarded a spot in the GOCE Hall of Fame this month! She has copy-edited over 1567 articles during these drives, and surpassed the 1,000,000-word mark on May 5. On to the second million! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa and Stfg >>> Sign up now <<<

I saw that you were listed at Wikipedia:PRV. Would you mind coming by to help Jayne Mansfield? Her article needs a lot of work. The problem remains that she existed a long time ago, so sources are lacking, but I noticed many sentences are awkwardly written. The article seems misleading or even confusing in some parts. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! ★Dasani★ 04:25, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Glad to help. As soon as I finish the article I'm copyediting (probably today), I'll give it a look; I'm old enough to remember when she died! :-) All the best, Miniapolis (talk) 13:45, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. The user doing most of the edits has been very willing, but she can only do so much. English is a second or third language for her. ★Dasani★ 00:29, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- Also, be warned that her article is long and hard to navigate. We've asked five editors and only you wrote back. Go figure, people are not up to the task. I can't really blame them, though. It needs a lot of work. ★Dasani★ 00:43, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice. I'm finishing up Indian rupee, and will visit Jayne tomorrow :-). All the best, Miniapolis (talk) 01:12, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Can you please do something about her early life? I rewrote it previously so that "She spent her nights working as a receptionist at a dance club". For some reason, the other editor disliked my changes and rewrote it even worse. ★Dasani★ 20:52, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- The other editor here. I changed it because she worked there in the evening, not night. And working at the desk is all the source writes about, nothing as particular as being a receptionist. Aditya(talk • contribs) 04:58, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
- I copyedited the whole article; did you see my edits in that section? Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis (talk) 21:43, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Aditya Kabir has given you a cookie! Cookies promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. You can spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a cookie, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
To spread the goodness of cookies, you can add {{subst:Cookie}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message, or eat this cookie on the giver's talk page with {{subst:munch}}!
- Brilliant work. Can I make an additional request? This article may go through some further change, not a lot though. Can you lend a hand again before it's ready for an FAC? Aditya(talk • contribs) 04:58, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for kind words and (yum!) the cookie, but I don't know what I can do more than I've done (carefully copyedited the whole article). Dasani has issues with my punctuation, but I double-checked the Manual of Style and think I'm on solid ground. Semicolons prevent multiple staccato sentences, and fewer commas improve sentence flow. Please don't indulge in an edit war; this article is, I think, a featured article candidate now. I copyedited it with that in mind, but will give it a quick going-over when you're ready. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis (talk) 13:24, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Knock knock
Jayne Mansfield again. Is it possible to incorporate the notes into the body of the text, at least as much possible within reason? With my level of skill in English, I'd rather leave it to someone with a better command of the language. BTW, thanks for you advice. Aditya(talk • contribs) 09:21, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
- Sure; with an article as well-referenced as this one, it's probably a good idea. I'll get to it in the next day or two. All the best, Miniapolis (talk) 16:48, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
