Garment industry[edit]

Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a soapbox to advocate issues or standpoints. Thanks. Kleuske (talk) 00:07, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the same text, with the same unreliable sources again without discussing it on the talk page is not the way to go. Please read WP:BRD for some guidance. Thanks. Kleuske (talk) 00:18, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ANI notice[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Kleuske (talk) 01:08, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your request, I have detailed the objections i had on my talk page. Objections (and not just mine) have been raised on the talk page of the article. You professed a desire to work within Wikipedias rules, yet flat out ignored all objections and inserted the same content again. Please don't. I have withdrawn the ANI-case, but if you continue your current behavior, I may well revive it.
Also, your user name may not be in agreement with the username policies, since it implies shared use. 18:19, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Tips for the future[edit]

Having read you reply on (talk) page, I understand where you are coming from and congratulate you on the quality of your writing and getting so many things right! So many things right that you confused us all. From your point of view, what is your deadline- and how will you be assessed and then we can help you out in achieving your personal goal! When I am training up a group of students- I use this pdf I have developed, which you may like to print off and maybe give to your tutor.

Women in Red- editing with street cred
  • The first thing my students do- is to put an entry on their talk page, this gives a critical editors some clues about who you are and they can apply WP:BITE (ie don't savage newbies). Secondly they write on their tutors talk page- when doing the forensics our admins can talk directly to the tutor- (and savage them instead- no I didn't say that, my keyboard misspoke)
  • Don't edit war, explain to your tutor you have learnt that pages are patrolled and you were wrongly advised to put your text there, and as such you have gone the extra mile and created a new article as advised in the talk page, and you are looking to do similarly articles in future on the plight of ..... (it could be any group that doesn't have inherited wealth). Wikipedia is non-political, which means you will find large numbers of editors who will share your concerns about injustice.
  • Have a look at what we have all said- follow the advice (a higher level wikiwiki skill than fighting a corner) and shout for help. Look forward to hearing from you.ClemRutter (talk) 20:21, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Monxogendermigrationclass, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Yngvadottir (talk) 16:03, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Monxogendermigrationclass, I'm sorry about the above wall of text, but please see my note at the bottom of Talk:Clothing industry. Your initial edits to the page introduced text copied from here—the footnote numbers tipped me off. Since Wikipedia is real-life publication, copying someone else's text in Wikipedia is a very serious matter, even more so than copying in a college essay. You must not do this even if you state where you got the text: you have to summarize it in your own words as well as stating the source (usually in a footnote). Even over-long quotation within quotation marks or in a block quote is a problem. This is a distinct issue from the one that has been noted above, that such a lengthy passage on one aspect of a topic is undue and overbalances the article. That's in fact the other reason why we summarize: we're working from sources that go into far more detail than is appropriate in an encyclopedia article, and argue points of view. Your instructor has presumably covered copyright issues? Yngvadottir (talk) 16:03, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What are the new accounts for?[edit]

Hi, Monxogendermigrationclass. It appears that you just recently created five new accounts.[1] Could you please tell me what the other accounts are intended for? Has your instructor explained that one person is supposed to have just one account? Bishonen | talk 18:01, 26 May 2017 (UTC).[reply]
