Speedy deletion of Magician Dor[edit]

A tag has been placed on Magician Dor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please stop making single character articles of Xanth characters[edit]

Nesikier...A long time ago, I merged all the information I could into a handful of multi-character lists. Please do not keep creating these individual articles. And if you are going to make images for the characters, get them right. Iris has dark black hair and Bink is plain looking. I am going to look at all of the single character articles that have been done. I think one has already been put up for speedy deletion, which may be the right move. These characters have no importance outside of the Xanth series. I don't think that individual character articles is the right way to go. And I love the Xanth series, I just don't want to go to crazy with it here. - LA @ 23:26, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you looked at how much is out there about Harry Potter and Avatar the Last Airbender outside of their original media? They are in the news, there are a lot of outside and verifiable information on them. Unfortunately, the Xanth characters don't have that. If the film is ever made, Bink may then deserve an article, but that is iffy. Yes, Xanth is a popular series, but not enough to get mentioned in the news or on a notable enough site. The information could be kept on the list, and the individual articles deleted through the AfD process, unless they qualify for a speedy delete.

Oh, one small thing to make life a bit easier when using templates. Not all of them need to be substituted. When I saw the articles with the Xanth template in the Xanth templates category, I checked and noticed that in each article you substituted the template. That template was not meant to be substituted, all you need to type is {{Xanth}} at the end of a Xanth article and presto, its there. :)

I know how it can be when an article you invested time and energy into comes under attack. I have had it happen over and over again. At least I am someone who actually knows about the series and not some random person who loves to tag articles with those big annoying boxes. What I can do is reintegrate the information back into the lists and AfD the individual character articles, before someone who doesn't know what Xanth is about does.

If these characters ever make it into a serious publication or three, then maybe they should have articles. But let's wait until then, okay? - LA @ 00:03, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
