Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Nicolamilan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page James Bulley, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2A00:23EE:1478:6AAC:D41C:52FF:FE2C:4707 (talk) 14:00, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from James Bulley. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you. Thank you and noted. I thought I had addressed the points. I also just re-commented on the changes I made as I am unclear on some of the comments - I addressed the point on COI, I am not clear on the resume comment as the page is a summary of a living person just like many others and I have added additional citations. Many thanks Nicolamilan (talk) 13:26, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

James Bulley moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to James Bulley. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. signed, Rosguill talk 17:10, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While you have previously disavowed being paid in an edit summary at Draft:James Bulley, this is insufficient for several reasons:
  • Despite coyly stating egarding the COI reference, please note that I am not a paid contributor, WP:COI can refer to external relationships or connections with the subject other than editing for pay. This needs to be addressed.
  • You have claimed both a photo of Bulley and his coat of arms (!) as your "own work" which would suggest a close connection that must be disclosed.
  • Your edits at Hasan Arat are also highly typical with what we see from undisclosed paid editors, which gives cause to suspect that you may in fact be doing this for pay after all.
