September 2017[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Yanacocha has been reverted.
Your edit here to Yanacocha was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://omaralminagorta.weebly.com/yanacocha-mine-peru.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Using Wikipedia to publicize one person's research[edit]

All of your edits add links to blogs or papers by Omar Alminagorta. Please be aware of WP:REFSPAM.

We love experts in Wikipedia, but not when they only come here to publicize one person's work. Experts can be very helpful to identify weaknesses in article -- places where they are out of date or have gone out of balance -- putting too much emphasis on something or having gaps -- from the point of view of an expert in the field. Experts also tend to be aware of reference works in their field that express "accepted knowledge" and can easily summarize them and cite them.

But not when they come here to promote someone - that goes against the core notion of WP:PROMO - part of Wikipedia is, and what it is not.

I do hope you will consider broadening your efforts here. If you like, please see User:Jytdog/How for an as-brief-as-possible summary of what we are up to, and how we do it.
