Creating a Biography page for my father Please help me with... How to start his profile? Nsarahk (talk) 19:28, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- The general guidance on how to create your first article is at your first article.
- But, because you are writing your father, there are a few extra things to be aware of. You have what we consider to be a [[WP:conflict of interest}]] so you need to add a line to your user page describing your relationship to your subject. Also, it's particularly important that you do not use either your personal knowledge or information from your father in writing your article. Everything you write in the article needs to be sourced to a published source. By ensuring that our subjects have been written about sufficiently in newspapers, magazines, or books, we make sure that the articles in Wikipedia are about WP:notable topics.
- You should be aware that, on Wikipedia, creating a new article is one of the hardest tasks there is. You will likely get to your goal of creating a new article faster if you first spend considerable time improving existing articles to better learn how Wikipedia works. New editors who plunge straight in to creating a new article often find it to be a very frustrating and disappointing activity. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 20:01, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
