If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Portugal Resident, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

As a new user to wikipedia I didn't fully understand the username policy when I created my username, I was simply using something familiar to me. I have fully read the username policy and understand. I wish to make a contribution by providing information about a popular newspaper based in Portugal, which I belive will be a valid contribution to wikipedia, as there are many other wikipedia contributions about newspapers in Portugal in Wikipedia. Again as I'm new as a contributer, the information I provided is verified by the links added, if I added information that doesn't comply with guidelines I will review and delete anything not allowed Openmediasa (talk) 16:45, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username seems to be acceptable. However, please read WP:COI and WP:PAID. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to be a general contributor and edit about topics unrelated to your COI, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 18:25, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator

[edit]

<I'm new to Wikipedia and did not have the opportunity to contest the deletion of my contribution in time, the page has been deleted. I have requested a username change and unblock. If my username is changed and I'm unblocked can I retrieve my contribution that has been deleted? Thank you>

Help requests are unnecessary if you have an open unblock request. You can request restoration of your draft at WP:REFUND if you get unblocked, but it's doubtful you be unblocked to edit about that topic in the short term. 331dot (talk) 18:21, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Portugal Resident LOGO (2022).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned with questionable licensing: no evidence that this logo is released under CC BY-SA, let alone which version of CC BY-SA.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
