If you have a personal interest in Melon Bikes, you need to declare that. It appears that you could have a serious Conflict of Interest. Please review this section, and in the meantime, please refrain from interjecting info about Melon Bikes into other articles. Thanks. 842U (talk) 20:17, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am a new user and I thought a good first article would be about Melon Bikes. There are many other articles about folding bike companies on Wikipedia and it seemed reasonable that there be one about all the notable folding bike companies. I am neither an employee of or affiliated with Melon Bicycles, and after review I could see how it resembles an advertisement but no more than any of the other folding bike articles (which is what I based this article on). I have corrected the in-line citation problem and will continue to work on making the article more neutral. Outtjp7 (talk) 14:44, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Outtjp7[reply]
Can you tell me why you think this company is notable? How long have they been in business? Do they manufacture their own bikes, or are these simply rebranded Taiwanese bikes? 842U (talk) 13:05, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They have been in business just over two years, and they do in fact manufacture their own bikes. They are on the forefront of creating new types of bikes (i.e. the folding bike). They are also working in a corporate wellness program with Chick-Fil-A, Turner Broadcasting, and others, which is something I need to add to the article. Overall the company is notable because they offer an upscale version of the folding bike and are competitive with the other folding bike companies already listed on Wikipedia. -Outtjp7 (talk) 19:47, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Outtjp7[reply]

If your intention is for this to be a good Wikipedia article, and not just a glowing product endorsement, it will help if you stop adding subjective superlatives, such as "52T Chainring provides perfect gear ratios for 20" wheel bike." It begs the questions: perfect for whom, and who says so? An encyclopedia would not make such a statement. -AndrewDressel (talk) 14:59, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the suggestion. I have corrected that, if you have other editing suggestions please let me know.

Blanked a template

[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page Template:New unreviewed article. Blank pages can confuse readers, and are overall not helpful to the Wikipedia project; furthermore, blanking a page is not the same as deleting it.

If the article you blanked is a duplicate of another article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the appropriate deletion process. I was not trying to delete the page. I was actually trying to review it and thought that by erasing the template for "New unreviewed article" then it would be viewable on wikipedia. How do I do this?

Which article were you trying to review? If you are the principle author, you can't be the reviewer. Jim.henderson (talk) 17:00, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to review the "Truck Tent" article, and I am not the principle author.

Napier Enterprises

[edit]
  • Being at the forefront of their industry— No independent source, so looks like spam
  • Napier produces and sells more truck tents than any other company.— only ref is to the company, no independent source
  • Sportz by Napier produce unique truck tents— no source for uniqueness
  • Some critics assert that this feature is unnecessary because one would sweep out the back anyway.— good that you include a criticism, but no attribution
  • After a learning curve, the truck tent can be set up easily.— No independent source, so looks like spam
  • Many supporters agree that Napier tents are very roomy and keep campers warm and dry above the ground— Pure spam
  • an awning, which is an option other producers do not provide.— No independent source

Incidentally, if you write a revised version, web refs look better like this <ref>[url sitename]</ref> Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:12, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and if you include reviews, you need professional reviews, not user comments, they are not WP:RS Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:23, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Truck tent, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

it is a duplicate of "Truck Tent". "Truck Tent" will be moved to "Truck tent" after this article is deleted.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.

Please do not duplicate articles, as it creates confusion. If article names are incorrect, they can be moved, preserving the talk page associated with the article and the editing history.—QuicksilverT @ 00:42, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
