Hi there; technically {{db-band}} was more accurate, although the sentiment is the same.

If you would like a vandalism-userbox, take a look at my userpage (24 to date).--Anthony.bradbury 22:55, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

That does look neater, does it not? Please feel free to steal any of my other boxes - that's how I got them, except for the Newhaven one that my son made for me. Look in WP:UB for additional choices.--Anthony.bradbury 23:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[edit] is a notable site, and is well-known. And the picture is not an obscenity. Look at the pages for penis or vagina. You will find similar images. --Marktheprices 00:08, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi I was originally going to put up 11 pictures for each model. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea so I splitted it up to different pages. If you want to help me delete them all, I'll compress it all to 1 article. Thanks. I agree that at the moment the articles are very similar. I was hoping more people would have inputs later. attack-warn template[edit]

Hi. I see that you have just created this template. Not a bad idea if you ask me. But before linking to it in tags used as often as db-attack, you might want to consult with the rest of the community, particularly the RC patrol and by leaving a comment on the talk pages of WP:CSD or the db-attack talk page. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 03:22, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Article tags[edit]

Cheers for the note on my talk page, you obviously think these articles are even less notable than I do; feel free to re-tag, I'm just being cautious. Y control 19:02, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

I changed this page a bit. This is a local state primary school and has unique features that I highlighted in the current page.

Thanks for the tip. Much obliged. I have made our leetle friend go away.  :) - Lucky 6.9 03:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

You wrote on this user's talk page that he "deleted parts" of his user talk page. I don't see this in the page history. Second, you said it was "illegal." Generally, users may archive or delete comments from their user talk pages. To my knowledge consensus has not been reached as to whether removing warnings is considered vandalism. Please be careful when making comments such as this. Thanks. --Ginkgo100 talk · e@ 05:28, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

You marked an article titled Spotts Fain for speedy deletion for being promotional for a business. There are over a hundred U.S. law firm entries intended to inform the public of the nature and history of the firms. The company about which the deleted article was written is a medium-sized firm in Richmond, VA that is deserving of a public entry. What are the requirements for entering an article about a firm without having it deemed "promotional"? --User:Bowie418 12:52, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

User: Biophilia[edit]

You tagged my recently created page, Anti-oppressive education, for deletion b/c I listed an education resource? That is seen as advertising?! I didn't have enough time to fill in the entire entry but wanted to get it started and so linked to the only research-based, non-profit, education centre that does anti-oppressive education work. Maybe ask for some clarification next time. By the way, I have put the page back up, hopefully this time with sufficent information to pass your random test of worthiness.--Biophilic 21:19, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism block[edit]

I would have infinitely blocked the user big fat boogers club. He posted obscenities, and he was a vandal. Just a suggestion.Diez2 00:47, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Good point, I'll reblock. --fvw* 00:49, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

How do I report a vandal to an admin to be blocked?

Please see WP:AIV including the need to warn them sufficiently first. --pgk 18:23, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Tagging as a stub[edit]

Hey, thanks for the work you do tagging articles as stubs! In the future, when tagging my articles, could you possibley hold off on the tagging? If not, that is ok. I was adding the tags, and more content and the edit conflict caused me to lose my changes. I know it is not your fault but wanted to let you know if you see me creating article, I will be properly tagging them myself! Thanks again for the work you do tagging, it is an important part of wikipedia. Chris Kreider 16:10, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for stubbing my article, I'm still new here and getting used to this stuff. :) FamicomJL 21:54, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello. I noticed you recently modifed the obscenities template. I use the template frequently, and liked the template as it was. I was wondering if you might discuss your changes on the talk page? Thanks. --KeithB 21:55, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, I have to agree with you that the picture in question is rather disgusting, and well deserving of the {{obscene}} tag. I can understand why you felt the need to modify the template. I am just wondering if maybe there is a slightly more formal and more neutral way of wording the warning?
The defintion for Gross is that it is a slang term meaning 'disgusting' or 'grotesque'. Those terms would certainly apply to that picture, in my opinion. But they also reflect an emotional reaction. I guess that is the concern with the way you worded it. It applies a value judgement. And, hard as it is to believe, some people may not find the picture offensive.
Perhaps something like "unecessarily graphic" might work better, to express that the picture is not appropriate in the context of the article, and was placed there with the intent to offend, regardless of the stand-alone value of the picture? Just an idea. I did start a discussion on the talk page, if you would like to discuss it there. --KeithB 02:08, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion[edit]

Thanks for the concern. I was using the before mentioned tag for a few of the articles I proposed for deletion, but the last couple I have on my clipboard - so I can just hit CTRL+V.

I appreciate your help, however. Because I'm still learning to use a few of the other tags, any suggestions are ALWAYS appreciated! :)

Re: Permissions[edit]

Is there a way in which I can just get permission to delete all of the stupid and dumb articles that appear on Special:Newpages? Diez2 00:01, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

In order to delete articles, you have to have Administrator privileges on Wikipedia. You can read about the role of administrators at Wikipedia:Administrators. If you want to become an admin then I suggest making helpful edits in the Wiki, polocy, article and Userspaces for at least six months in order to build up knowledge of policies and guidelines and a good reputation amongst your peers. If you want to nominate articles for deletion, take a look at the speedy deletion criteria and use the templates to tag the pages for the attention of administrators such as me. Don't forget that you have been adopted by Rat235478683, so you are free to ask them questions about Wikipedia as well! (aeropagitica) 00:09, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you![edit]

I'm a bureaucrat on a couple of other Wikia wikis, but not this one. I just got back after a self-imposed Wikipedia hiatus which lasted almost all year. I'd be honored if you'd consider a nomination, but it might be more to my advantage to wait a couple of months or so. I know that Jimbo certainly trusts me and it was he who immediately brought my request for re-adminning before the ArbCom since I left in good stead. I had the mop and bucket back in hand in about a day thanks to him. Thank you so very much for the kind offer. I'm deeply touched. - Lucky 6.9 08:05, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Two Dickinson Street Co-op[edit]

Is this the correct place to talk to you? I was under the impression that the correct protocol for contesting a speedy deletion was to copy the template into the "talk" page for the entry in question -- in this case Two Dickinson Street Co-op. I am suggesting that the article should not be deleted because the 2D Co-Op is at least as notable as the ten other eating clubs each of which has its own Wikipedia entry. Ajkessel 15:02, 9 November 2006 (UTC)ajkessel

Thanks for your note on my talk page -- I understand that posting exactly what the club does from day to day isn't notable. I just wanted to start the article, basically as a stub, with a plan to fill in history/significance, etc.. I understand the notability guidelines and am confident that with a little work the entry will meet those guidelines. Ajkessel 16:14, 9 November 2006 (UTC)ajkessel

Thank you for the speedy delete![edit]

Don't know HOW that happened. I mean, I know I must have created it, but I'm still not certain how it happened. Thanks for picking it up so quickly. --A green Kiwi in learning mode 18:49, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes the intial entry for Andrzej Wroblewski was very poorly written so it made it look like speedy deletion. Have a look now I have laid out a basic structure but it needs a lot of work particularly 1948 to his death. I was amazed he didn't exist yet because he was a major painter but died very youngErnst Stavro Blofeld 20:18, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

He appears to have stopped for now. I'll block him if he comes back and starts vandalising again. Cheers, Khoikhoi 00:34, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the extra feathers on my wings!

Thank you so much, Diez2, for your support in my RfA, which passed on November 11, 2006, with a final tally of 82/0/2. I am humbled by the kind support of so many fellow Wikipedians, and I vow to continue to work and improve with the help of these new tools. Should you have any request, do not hesitate to contact me. Best regards, Húsönd 21:39, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your input![edit]

Thank you for taking part in my RfA. The RfA was not successful, mostly because I did a pretty bad job of presenting myself. I'll run again sometime in the next few months, in the hopes that some will reconsider.

In the meantime, one of the projects I'm working on is A Wikimedia Administrator's Handbook. This is a wikibook how-to guide intended to help new administrators learn the ropes, as well as to simply "demystify" what adminship entails. If you are an administrator, please help out with writing it, particularly on the technical aspects of the tools. Both administrators and non-administrators are welcome to help link in and sort all of the various policies regarding the use of these tools on wikipedia in particular (as well as other projects: for example, I have almost no experience with how things work on wiktionary or wikinews). Users who are neither familiar with policy or the sysop tools could be of great help by asking questions about anything that's unclear. The goal is to get everything together in one place, with a narrative form designed to anticipate the reader's next question.

A second project, related but not entailed, is a book on wikimedia in general, with a history of how various policies evolved over time, interesting trivia (e.g., what the heck was "wikimoney" about?), and a history of how the wikimedia foundation itself came about and the larger issues that occurred during its history (such as the infamous "Spanish Fork").

Again, thanks for your input on the RfA, and thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide for the handbook. --SB_Johnny|talk|books 14:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

How do I archive my talk page? Diez2 01:40, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

There are several ways to do it, see detailed instructions WP:ARCHIVE. In order to archive mine, I just create an archive page for every 50 topics on my talk page. Then I just paste the content, and delete it from the main talk page. You may check the templates on my talk page if you decide this way. Hope this helps. "The making of an ICU nurse,"[edit]

I have removed the prod on this article and renamed the article. It seems notable to me (based on a Google for the correct article title, it is independently discussed, and is having an impact on education). I have renamed the article to Critical care: The making of an ICU nurse, and will try to get some more info in there. Chovain 03:43, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Frank Hogan[edit]

My apologies if I misunderstood the Biography notability criteria. My understanding was that one test is to ask "will people care about this person 100 years from now?" or "do I care about a similar person from 100 years ago?" I certainly care about Teddy Roosevelt, so it seems to me that Kennedy would pass this test. A DA from NYC would not be on my personal 100 years list, but the fact that he was a US Senatorial candidate does up the stakes a bit. crazyeddie 03:57, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't really interested in the 100 years list, but I just thought he was some minor person who hadn't been terribly important. No biggie, thanks for correcting us on that part. John Smith's 10:38, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

You wrote: Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Ambriel. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Diez2 22:05, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I did not create this article. I cleaned up and referenced the article so that it did not meet the speedy criteria and removed the tag as I was entitled so to do. I am blanking your comment on my talk page since it should never have been made. TerriersFan 00:38, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Please study the template which says "If this page does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, or you intend to fix it, please remove this notice". Once I fixed it I was entitled to remove it. Please familiarise yourself with Wikipedia policy before criticising other editors. TerriersFan 01:49, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
On that same template, it says, "do not remove this tag from pages that you have made yourself." Besides, I didn't even use that template.Diez2 01:51, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
The template you used is here. As I informed you above I did not create the page. The page was created by User:Bryser. Please check your facts before throwing crticisms about. TerriersFan 01:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Bob Fisher[edit]

I removed the {{prod}} from Bob Fisher because he is the writer of a notable movie, Wedding Crashers. If you suspect that a film industry person is not notable, you should always check their listing at In the same way, use for musicians and other music industry people so that you don't inadvertently propose the deletion of someone who is notable. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 00:46, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi there; I see that you have now affixed your name to this project, which I take to mean that you are now clear as to its purpose.

On investigation it appears that your adopter has, including yourself, seven adoptees, which is clearly ludicrous when he himself is a beginner with only just over 400 edits to his name.
