Notice

The article JALT Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) SIG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on JALT Mixed, Augmented, and Virtual Realities (MAVR) SIG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://jalt.org/groups/sigs/mixed-augmented-virtual-realities. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Recent Articles You Created[edit]

If you want to work on a new article without it getting nominated for speedy deletion, you should do so in a draft instead of in the article namespace. This does not mean that copyright violations are acceptable in draft space. Also, creating articles about topics you have a close connection to is generally frowned upon here. Request reason:

I attended a Workshop at EUROCALL2018 held in Finland on Wikipedia: "WIKIPEDIA for Language Learning and Teaching workshop" by Teresa Mackinnon and Niklas Laxström (https://www.jyu.fi/en/congress/eurocall2018/programme/ec2018_full_programme_2308_web-1.pdf). After the workshop, I started exploring Wikipedia. I made some pages for the SIGs (Special Interest Groups) of Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT) (https://jalt.org/), because I was the Director of Public Relations at the time and didn't know that this is considered as infringement of copyright. I made a mistake as I was new to Wikipedia. I should have carefully studied before starting exploring. I am aware of my mistake and I hope Wikipedia gives me one more chance. What has happened is because I didn't know that what I am doing is regarded as copyright infringement.I sincerely apologize for this mistake. I'm planning to make Wikipedia pages for Women of Color in English Language Teaching (ELT) (https://womenofcolorinelt.wordpress.com/), and that's why I'm wondering whether there is any chance to be unblocked.Parisamehran (talk) 07:05, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You weren't blocked for violating WP:COPYRIGHT, though that's an incredibly serious policy to violate. Instead, you were blocked for violating WP:PROMO (and likely, WP:COI) but have not addressed this in your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 13:05, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

As I said before, I was the Director of Public Relations of Japan Association for Language Teaching at the time and that's why I made these pages for its Special Interest Groups. I wanted to add more information to the links on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Association_for_Language_Teaching especially to these SIGs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Association_for_Language_Teaching#Current_SIGs

Decline reason:

Per below. MER-C 10:48, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Right, but that was totally inappropriate. You aren't even trying to convince us you understand why it was inappropriate. --Yamla (talk) 01:04, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Your Hi again. I thought as a director of Public Relations of an organization, JALT, I can make Wikipedia pages for the special interest groups of the organization. I made a mistake.

Decline reason:

Between this and your duplicate UTRS request it is clear you still do not understand what was problematic about your edits as you indicate you want to edit about something for which you have a conflict of interest. That will not be allowed. I am declining your request, and you are probably close to losing your access to this page too unless you can actually address the concerns given to you. 331dot (talk) 10:48, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
