[edit]Hello, PedantJFH, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 21:35, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, MrOllie, thank you. My only multiple accounts are that I sometimes use the computer in my office and sometimes the one at home. I'm not coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. The edit I submitted to the Fortran article recently was to include in its list of books a new one on Fortran, which is the only book I know of that deals with the latest (2023) revision of the Fortran standard. I got the details from my own copy of the book. PedantJFH (talk) 21:44, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- There has been a concerted effort to promote that book on Wikipedia, first by the author and then by new accounts. You can understand why your edit would trip a red flag. MrOllie (talk) 21:56, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
