Thanks. You've put it at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Pollilur, but the master is Polllilur. I've explained this while noting that I've indeffed this sock. If only he'd listen, and produce stuff that fits here, I'd be happy for him to get unblocked. Trouble is, he doesn't enable email - and I'd hesitate to email him anyway for certain reasons. My article

Regarding my article for Mesosilver. The article is purely informational. There are hundred thousands of such articles for many companies that has been created and creating such articles doesn't contradict Wikipedia policies. If there is any sentence that you see as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" please let me know and as I'll be rather willing to change it.

I have written this article after reviewing other such articles for different companies and I believe I have used a neutral language. Greenbd (talk) 13:31, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

The main reason I deleted was the lack of any show of notability (WP:CORP). The references given were all press releases or similar, apart from a yellow pages entry. None of these can shoe notability. Please see WP:RS. Promotion doesn't always mean "Special offer!!!!! Buy two for the price of three!!!!" type stuff. The bulk of the article was a listing of the products, again with no indication of notability (and leaving me puzzled as to what the heck it was all supposed to do...). A product lis like this is commonly regarded as being for promotional reasons, but it would have gone for lack of indicated significance anyway. Peridon (talk) 16:51, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
As you have agreed with me about the article not being a blatant promotion, it's not a subject to speedy deletion IMHO. Can you please restore the article, and I'll address the issue of notability when such discussion will be initiated. Greenbd (talk) 06:35, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Not so. The issue of significance was raised by my adding A7 to the original reason (and A7 is a reason for speedy deletion if significance is not shown), and to my mind, there was an advertising intention as well - so I left that on as a reason. As I actually said above, 'Promotion doesn't always mean "Special offer!!!!!"'. The article would need rewriting, in my opinion, to get away from the impression that the products are being promoted, and a fresh set of references would definitely be needed. Press releases and such cannot be used here to show notability, and nor are directory entries. Please read the policy I referred to above. As to my not replying, I posted a note at what was then the bottom of the page to tell people that I was not going to be online until some time today. I am now back home. I think most articles about the companies on the Wikipedia will include a list of product the company produces, right? Lets take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9 for example, that is an article about Nestle. Do you see it as promotional?
I'm currently addressing only the issue of promotion. If you have seen something different in my article, that is not included in the Nestle article, please let me know and I'll certainly change it. I have striped to write an informative, and not a promotional article about the only company in the world that produces colloidal forms from such a big number of different metals. They are also 3rd/4th company in the world regarding colloidal silver production. They do operate in FDA registered facility under cGMP. Greenbd (talk) 16:09, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

The Nestlé article isn't really relevant - WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS - and it is not written on behalf of or by the company. (You may not be associated with Mesosilver, but it came over as if you were.) I am addressing the issue of notability, by the way. Without that, there's not going to be an article anyway. PR whether Public Relations or Press Release stuff cannot support notability. Without adequate reliable independent sourcing, we're wasting our time. If you have a talk with MelanieN (who answered your post below), you might find her willing to help. She's good at rescuing. Wikipedia's purpose is to introduce the sum of human knowledge. I'm interested to write articles for all of the three/four leading colloidal producers to expand Wikipedia in this regard. I certainly think that 3-4 largest world producers in the area of colloids are notable to be included in the Wikipedia. What do you think?
Regarding WP:RS issue, it's not a policy. The policy is WP:V. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS doesn't mean that there should not be fairness. I have seen articles for companies that are sourced entirely to their own commercial websites and no one changes or deletes them. So using published press releases is a welcome step in my opinion towards verifiability. Greenbd (talk) 13:45, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
RS tells you what is and isn't regarded as acceptable. Other articles don't justify this one. Tell us which and we'll deal appropriately with them - bearing in mind that some were here before policies and procedures changed. If you're so sure that your article is sound, repost it. Press releases only establish that something may exist (but not always...). They cannot establish notability. I've done all I can to help you understand why it was deleted. Hi, Peridon, and thanks for the "referral". I have reviewed this subject and am currently discussing it at Greenbd's talk page. I have reached the same conclusion as you: the subject is not notable. I see that there was a previous article about the parent company, which was also speedy-deleted as not notable. I am trying to explain to Greenbd about criteria for inclusion in an international encyclopedia. BTW I will be mostly AFC (away from the computer) for the next week-and-a-half, so please save any more referrals till after July 13. --MelanieN (talk) 17:30, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Deleted articles

Dear Peridon

I had created two pages..one was about a cause and to create awareness about that cause and you deleted it . Could you please let me know why and if there was an issue why wasn't I given a chance to rectify it?

Considering that day is just around the corner and awareness is important. I did mention in the article that more details would be added ...I would request you to restore the page and please let ne know the issue so that I can resolve it along with modifications.

My second page simply had one word as draft (again set aside for modifications) as I was going to write that after I completed my previous one and that page had been deleted too without giving me a chance.

I have seen so many pages on Wikipedia where people have written single sentence and never modified them.

I don't say that I intend to do so but please restore my pages and especially the content so that I can work on them asap especially because dates are very close for the cause I am writing for.

Looking forward to positive reply soon

Please add new threads at the bottom of a talk page (as it tells you at the top of this one), and sign your post with four ~ things. Thanks. OK. We don't have 'place holder' pages. There are some very brief articles called stubs, but they have to show notability just as all articles do. Yours didn't. The one about the event - that's a different matter. You are worried about getting it up in time - that confirms to me that it is promotional in intent as well as in appearance. Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion. There is no point in restoring the Doctors Pulse article as there is no content, and the event one would need a complete reworking anyway. There is nothing to prevent you from trying again, but I recommend most strongly that you read WP:COI about conflict of interest (editing about subjects you are very close to) and WP:SPAM. Also, read WP:RS(reliable independent sources). I can't find any sources at all on Google for these things. WP:NPOV tells you how to write in a neutral manner, and WP:GNG tells you about notability. I think you are biased. .Why did I even think you would help. ..

I am worried about CAUSE not event...please get your English right. Yes I want that to be up and running in time for the CAUSE not for any promotional reason. If you can prove that it is for marketing purposes and not because you are biased I promise I will stop working for the cause. ..its people like you , who don't understand what a cause is and why it is run and most importantly think everyone is there to make money, who ruin the purpose of the cause. Its also people like you who want to be mr. Know it all and don't wish other people to progress or be aware so that they can be helped.

Mr.know it all. ... if this was marketing you would have found promotional materials being sold on it, on Google. I am sure everyone understands that promotional material cannot be created and sold so quickly.

You did not even care to go through my entire request and didn't even help me get my material which I had posted.

I know you are going to delete this as this is going to hurt your ego but I do have to say that it's a shame to have people like you around who don't know and don't even wish to know importance of what they had deleted . If at least you had tried and had asked for clarification it would have felt that you care about society.

Why?? If you don't want people to find out about it (which is the same thing as promoting it, which you said you are not interested in), why is the timing important? In the English language, "marketing" and "promotion" can also apply to non-commercial causes. JohnCD is an administrator, as I am. He will have read the deleted material. MelanieN will have searched for references - if she can't find any, I doubt anyone can. Until there are references to show notability, there will be no article. If there are references, and it's written like it was, no article. End of story. I noticed you deleted the user page of User:Khalid Abbas-Cinematographer, and while I was trying to figure out why it was on my watch list (I still don't know) I came across this in my contribs list: User:Khalid Abbbas-Cinematographer. No, it's User:Khalid Abbas-cinematographer that was deleted (small c). I've deleted the one with three bs and blocked it - it's just spam for himelf (exactly the same stuff). Strictly, I suppose the later one is the sock, but as this one is spelt wrongly I've blocked it and not the real sock. Seems like he went from large c and three bs to small c and two bs. If he posts it again, he's likely to be blocked on that one too. I do wish people would spell themselves correctly - I think Polllilur made a mistake when he started up, and then used Pollilur as a sock possibly to correct it. There again, maybe not. Deleted Private Lives (band)

After a significant time away from Wikipedia I was looking at updating this page only to find you had deleted it. Can you reinstate it so that I may edit the page accordingly? Would be greatly appreciated... and would appreciate any guidance with regards to ensuring it remains in-tact. I'm not quite sure why it was deleted. The reason given isn't clear to me.

It was deleted because it didn't show any notability for the band. It was also unreferenced. It's now at User:Freq_ghost/Private Lives (band). Look into WP:BAND and WP:RS. It should be safe from the patrollers in your userspace as it's not spammy and presumably not a copyvio. Peridon (talk) 12:07, 23 July 2013 (UTC)


Request to Delete Rockingham County Botanical Garden

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon no longer exist, either. If this were a directory of gardens, there would be a very good case for deletion. It isn't. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and we do record many things that no longer exist. Your only chance for deletion is to show that it wasn't notable in the first place. It's quite all right to put in that the RCBG has departed - but I advise adding a reference to prove it. (Not a bad idea if you could add a reference to show that it was there in the first place while you're at it. You obviously know something about it. Look at WP:RS.) By the way, the "nowiki" "/nowiki" things are a bit of coding that enable us to display the code for something without it actually operating. If you type just four ~ things it will put your signature up. If you put the nowiki things in, it will display the four ~s not the signature. It just looks better to put ~~~~ than to put "~~~~". OK? I sorted the heading marks, but I can't sort your sig as if I type the ~s in it will put my sig up and people will think I'm talking to myself... Peridon (talk) 09:59, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

OK. Look at WP:WEB about notability for websites, and WP:RS about reliable independent sources. You have to show why the website deserves a place in an encyclopaedia. Anything can get into a directory, but we're not a directory. Not everything gets an article. The ages of the founders are somewhat against the site passing, as is it only being up for three months.
