Speedy deletion nomination of South Australian State Emergency Service
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on South Australian State Emergency Service, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your reason here Phillip Krasnoff (talk) 06:43, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Hi I have been blocked for being a sock puppet. I am fairly new to wikipedia and I am trying to comply with the rules as best as I can. I would like to create a new wikipedia page for the South Australian State Emergency Service. I established a wikipedia account yesterday 15/9/2015 for the South Australian State Emergency Service and then attempted to create a new page wikipedia page for the South Australian State Emergency Service. I received a message saying something along the lines of "you should not create pages about you or your organisation." I then tried creating a wikipedia page for South Australian State Emergency Service using my personal Wikipedia account, thinking that this was the proper way to create a page for an organisation. I was not trying to be deceitful, I was just trying to create a page for my organisation because there is no information about the South Australian State Emergency Service on Wikipedia. Can you please let me know if there is anything I can do to unblock my personal account and could you please let me know what would be the correct process for requesting the creation of a Wikipedia for the South Australian State Emergency Service. I apologise for any wikipedia etiquette that I have broken and promise to abide by the rules, please help.
Accept reason:
Perceived sockpuppetry explained to the satisfaction of me and the blocking admin. Please note that you may not edit South Australia Emergency Services or related articles due to COI, and will be blocked again immediately if caught doing so. Karl Dickman talk 01:31, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
@Jimfbleak: This explanation makes sense. The edits under Phillip Krasnoff predate the earliest edits under SA State Emergency Service by 18 months. Please understand that editing an article about an organization you work for is considered a conflict of interest, and is not allowed. Since you have made constructive edits to other topics, I think your block should be lifted as long as you understand that you must steer clear of the SA State Emergency Service due to COI. Can you do that? Karl Dickman talk 02:46, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- Karl Dickman. Thanks for ping. I have no objections to an unblock under the terms you propose Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:03, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
