Don't worry! You don't have to pay anything other than your Internet bill :P. Happy editing!– PeaceNT 16:42, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can adopt you. Obviously, it's a very informal and non-compulsory thing that can be dissolved at any moment. Xiner (talk, email) 17:33, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

I REALLLY NEED SOMEONE TO ADOPT ME NOT IN REAL LIFE IN THIS WIKIPEDIA THING HOW DO I ASK PEOPLE TO DO THAT PLEASE THANK YOU!

You may want to ask people on this list. Xiner (talk, email) 18:08, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I don't think I would be a good adopter of you. I do have some advice for you though: Read all the information above. It is a lot, so take your time and read one or two a day. Don't think you have to memorize it all, just learn some of it and get the general idea and you'll be fine for starters. Two: DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS, AS PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE YELLING AT THEM. Lastly: Only put the ~~~~ on talk pages for your contributions. It shouldn't go on your userpage or article entries. Remember this: If it's a talk page, sign it; otherwise don't. Good luck in getting adopted. --MECUtalk 16:32, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure...

...I'll adopt you! Sr13 (T|C) Editor review 08:39, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply:User page

[edit]

Well, if you want to start making your user page, it's a good idea to take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject User Page Help first, you can find every instruction you need there (the page helped me a lot when I made my user page in the beginning). See also Wikipedia:User page for general information on what you can or cannot have on your user page, etc. You didn't tell me your specific problem, should you have any later on, I would be glad to help. Regards. PeaceNT 12:15, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah I forgot! See Wikipedia:Userboxes if you are interested in those little boxes :) PeaceNT 12:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if you have what you want on your user page, and you want others to format the items for you, you can list your name at Wikipedia:WikiProject User Page Help/Trading Spaces#Renovatees. Cheers, S.D. ¿п? § 12:28, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So that IP is yours ^_^. Well, for your "userbox" question, first, you can choose some ready-made userboxes from some of the links here, in each page your can see a list of templates (in the left) and how they will show up (in the right), for example here. Second, copy the template of the userbox you want and paste it on your user page. eg: if you copy and paste {{User:UBX/Happy}} on your user page, this is what you get:
:)This user is happy.
See, It's pretty easy PeaceNT 15:14, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For the second question, no, I'm always pleased to help out newcomers. Just one thing for you to consider: please put comma (,) in your sentence so that it won't be long and make the readers feel out of breath everytime. Regards PeaceNT 15:21, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I quote from WP:ADOPT these two rules:
"Adopters should have a minimum of 500 edits"
"Adopters should not be current adoptees."
That's it. I'm afraid you don't qualify as an adopter right now. With your 3-day-old account, you're still so new here and I'm sure there're many interesting things for you to learn. So, wait till you're experienced enough. Regards PeaceNT 00:43, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Q: hi im new and dont know how to use my userpage what do i do thanks! Pjg12 12:02, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A: Your user page is for others to know more about you. For example, on your user page, you can have contact information (e-mail, instant messaging) and your activities and opinions on and about Wikipedia. For yourself, you can put a to do list, works in progress, reminders, and useful links. (More...) Hope this helps! Happy editing, S.D. ¿п? § 12:25, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary reminder
Hello. I noticed that your edit to World War I did not include an edit summary. Please remember to use one for every edit, even minor ones. You can enable the wiki software to prompt you for one before making an edit by setting your user preferences (under Editing) to "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary".
