Welcome!

[edit]

Hello RC1995, welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page contains a lot of helpful material for new users—please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A tag has been placed on File:John Partridge as Christian Clarke in his first appearance.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. GeorgePing! 14:15, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing

[edit]

I've had to revert you twice now with regard to this portion of the Whitney Houston article. The other time I had to revert you was with this edit. You have no doubt added unsourced information to other articles. Stop it. You must provide WP:Reliable sources to add this type of information. Read that page, WP:Reliable sources, and WP:Verifiability. And see Help:Getting started, which will direct you to guidelines and policies and show you how you are supposed to edit Wikipedia. Flyer22 (talk) 17:24, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning about this edit and those like it. Do it again, and you will be reported...which will very likely lead to your being blocked (temporarily or permanently). Flyer22 (talk) 04:24, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Marc Elliot 2010.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Marc Elliot 2010.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:16, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

blocked

[edit]
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for repetitively inserting information into Whitney Houston that contradicts the sources in the article. Other editors have warned you about this, but you have not replied or provided a new source. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Hello, I'm AxG. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Elton John without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.  [[ axg ◉ talk ]] 16:24, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

EGOT

According to the Grammy database, the award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media for Chicago went to Randy Spendlove & Ric Wake, compilation producers. Joel W. Moss, engineer. Dan Hetzel, engineer/mixer; no mention of any of the performers.

Also, Bruce Springsteen has not personally won an Emmy, and I can find no evidence that Eminem has won one either. If you can provide sources that confirm your edits, that would be great. Trivialist (talk) 20:45, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Shirley Jones, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Cary Grant's circumstances are not the same as Liz Taylor's. Taylor's parents were American, she was a dual citizen from birth. Grant was born to British parents and was only a British citizen for the first 38 years of his life, during which he achieved notability. The cases are not the same.

Furthermore, there is an RfC on the issue active on the talk page, in which the current consensus was for the language in the article before you made the change. You did not participate in the RfC and edited against the current consensus. That's not kosher. The correct course is to participate in the RfC, wait until the RfC period is over, and then someone will implement the consensus of the RfC. Please remember to check the talk page for discussions and previous consensus before making changes to the article text.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Joan Fontaine may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

While that editor is correct that Wikipedia does not consider IMDb a reliable source, the 1969 date is indeed supported by People magazine, the New York Daily News and CBS News. Those are reliable sources, and you can use those cites as given here. --Tenebrae (talk) 15:15, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sophia Loren, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sunflower (film) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, RC1995. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Henrietta Award - World Film Favorite Award (Female)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Henrietta Award - World Film Favorite Award (Female)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 18:00, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
