ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. List of minor characters in The Godfather series[edit]

Just letting you and the other editors who took part in the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Five Families (The Godfather) discussion know: it's been closed with a consensus to redirect, in case you want to create that target article and perform the merge. Regarding CSD G3 Vandalism[edit]

Nasir Khanjan really does not fall under G3 or even close. G3 is for actual vandalism - bad-faith hoaxes, content that offends, etc. This does none of that. G3 assumes that the contributor probably contributed with bad faith, so I would only use it in very blatant cases. Any other time, don't use that criterion. Appable (talk | contributions) 20:42, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

@Appable A mistake from my part. The content of the article referring him as a Facebook sensation made me tag it for speedy deletion. After that I checked the sources and nominated it in AFD...Rameshnta909 (talk) 20:47, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
Even if it did claim him as a Facebook sensation with no references, i would probably go for something like A7 (if there were no sources and no elaboration on how he's a Facebook sensation). Frankly, if it's a coherent article about a person that actually probably exists, it's not G3 - even if it's about their two-month-old baby, it's more likely a misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is about than a bad-faith content introduction. Appable (talk | contributions) 20:50, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
@Appable K. Thanks for the heads up...Rameshnta909 (talk) 20:52, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Pakistan at the 2017 Asian Winter Games[edit]

Please do your research before nominating articles for deletion. Its a complete waste of time for editors to reply to AFD's when they are not necessary. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 22:16, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

@Sportsfan 1234 The page is about the performance of a country in a future sports event. Doesn't make any sense to me. Shouldn't we at least wait for the event to be over...Rameshnta909 (talk) 12:09, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
Again, if you did your research you will see these articles are created a couple months before the games begin. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 14:39, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

AfDs[edit]

Please be more careful in nominating articles to AfD - your accuracy has been hit and miss at best. For example, you failed to realise that educational institutions high school level or higher are assumed to be notable. I would advise you to stop nominating articles for deletion until you read WP:GNG fully. Please only nominate articles for deletion when you have read WP:GNG and the subject specific notability page. Frivolous nominations are disruptive and only cause distress to the page creator and extra work for other editors. Thank you. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 13:32, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

@Darylgolden I am working on AFD page for sometime now. Nominations I make to the page are always in good intention. I have nominated many articles to AFD and most of it has been deleted per my nomination or debated as a valid one. Its worrying for me that you saw my edits us disruptive. Anyway thanks for the heads up – Rameshnta909 (talk) 20:08, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
Not to pile on, but I'll put this here since the discussion was already started. First, I am quite happy that there is a serious editor with native language skills such as yourself that is helping in the India-related article. That said, it would be even more helpful if your summaries of why an article should be deleted were more informative. General hand-waves such as: "Fails GNG," or, "Fails NBIO," are not as helpful as: "All references in the article are to non-independent sources and searches find no RS," or, "Notability derives entirely from being mentioned on Donald Trump's Twitter account and no evidence exists of independent notability." I made these examples up, but I trust you get the point. It helps other editors, especially with such broad guidelines as GNG and NBIO, if they have some idea of where you think an article fails. Thanks again. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:21, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

AfD close[edit]

Hi there. I just wanted to let you know as a courtesy that I had to undo your edit at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nari Gursahani Law College. You withdrew your nomination but you didn't close the deletion discussion properly so I've done this for you now. You can find out how to close deletion discussions at WP:NAC. Happy editing! st170etalk 14:59, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
