Horosopic astrology

Hi there. I notice you created Horosopic astrology which seems like a spelling error. I am going to move the content of your page to the existing Horoscopic astrology article. I just thought it would be polite to let you know before I do that. Oh and by the way avoid deleting messages from your talk page because it can be seen as vandalism. Green Giant 01:53, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that! Ha, I feel like an idiot. Thank you. Samuella 01:55, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Your welcome, but you're not an idiot. It's an easy mistake to make and I will bet my life savings that someone else will type it in like that into a search engine. :P Green Giant 01:58, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Oggdrop-logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Oggdrop-logo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. sun signs

Hey Sam! Good to touch base with you. Do you know who added the sun sign dates to the sun sign page? Because they are inaccurate in some cases - change of sign isn't always the 21st. I augmented the page quite a bit and edited/expaned a few things already there, hope you don't mind (if any of it was your original). See notes on talk page. MayoPaul5 18:33, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Hey. I added the dates, but I used the information from another Wikipedia article so I'm not 100% they were correct. As I'm sure you know, it's difficult to *exactly* chart the date when the sun ingresses into a particular sign because it changes and the signs have rather fuzzy beginnings and endings. Thank you for your input on the article! The astrology articles need all the contributors they can get. ;-) Sam 22:16, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome, Sam. I'm hoping to persuade Jonathan Cainer to input something too. He's very knowledgeable on the subject. MayoPaul5 21:28, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Sam, have you read the talk page on sun signs? I'd appreciate your comments to my suggestion.
MayoPaul5 06:55, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi! Sorry about not getting to you sooner. I haven't read it yet, but I am going to right now. Sam 23:46, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Merging

Hi there. I'm trying to move the Ruling planet article to Domicile (astrology) because domicile is the more traditional/formal name for a ruling planet. However, I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and I am having trouble doing so. Could you possibly help me out? Thank you! Sam 22:39, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Sam. Since Domicile (astrology) already exists, you can merge Ruling planet into it. To propose a merger, place the tag {{merge|OTHER PAGE}} at the top of each page. It will then appear like this:
It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with OTHER PAGE. (Discuss)
You can read more about merging at Wikipedia:Merging and moving pages (Shortcut: WP:MM). --ElectricEye 03:58, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank you! Sam 04:55, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Should the final destination be at Ruling planet or Domicile (astrology)? --ElectricEye 05:38, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

I merged the articles. I don't know anyting about astrology, so please edit the article in case I made any mistakes. Waikiki!!! --ElectricEye 12:30, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you so much!Sam 14:58, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Request for comment

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that User:Marskell had initiated an RfC on my behaviour at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Aquirata. You may wish to comment. Aquirata 13:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

RfC request

I have been attacked one time too many by User:Andrew Homer - see his response to my last request he stop personal attacks [1] I am going to start an RfC and I was hoping you would certify it as a user who tried to resolve the problem. If you will leave a message about this on my talk page I set up for this purpose, you can also see more about it as I am drafting the RfC there.

Yo, yo!

Sam, you should join us over at the astrology wikiproject. C'mon, you know you want to. --Chris Brennan 04:22, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey. I'm not so sure I would have much to contribute. Sam 16:10, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Alright, added. I don't know much about astrology but I can use my sixth house stellium/Virgo moon for something, huh? ;) Sam 17:59, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Articles for deletion/David Cochrane

I thought I'd let you know that the David Cochrane article has ben listed for deletion. In my view, it is important and in the interests of WP that users knowledgeable about the subject matter make their views known. If you wish to comment, please do so here: [2]. tarot edits

new bit

I note from comments people have made that removing my own verbose turgid comments from your discussion page is vandalism. It won't happen again. Otherwise, I don't know if you're tracking changes but I added bits and bats to the tarot section. If you want to look over them and make suggestions please do.

I also notice you mention a clean-up in the tarot pips section in your to-do list. I didn't manage to find a tarot pips section. Would you be able to stick a pointer to it here? Or is it something you're working on off-line to post later? If so, I would be happy to run through it to make comments before it goes live if there's an area of wiki you could post it to for such purposes.

Otherwise, please excuse the verbal diarrhoea. I don't want to make too many claims I can't verify, and psychic abilities are so far into that area of life it's untrue, but yeah I've felt really up & down the last few days until I read about the legal matters I mentioned below: it really can drive me up the wall, I'm never sure whether people (not you!) are doing it deliberately, and it can lead to me frowning a lot and unintentionally making people uneasy.

Your patience with me as a newbie to wikipedia is very much appreciated 8?).

Graphitus 17:40, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

AFAIK, the pips don't have their own pages. What I meant by clean up in single card pages was the articles on the major arcana cards. Sam 22:25, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

older bit

<snip>

Graphitus, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to convey. Could you be a little more succinct? Sam 21:52, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

<snipped for public access> Graphitus 12:10, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I'm sorry if I came off as rude earlier, I just was kind of confused. I am not surprised by the psychic thing, it happens a lot! I was formally diagnosed with Asperger's around 2003. I, too, have had some bad experienced with the mental health area, so I empathize with you.
I definitely believe in psychic information being transferred across individuals. It happens to me all the time, more often when I :try to be aware of it.
Regarding the suits, I didn't write those. I just recently began to take interest in cleaning up the tarot articles; they were there :before I began my edits.
Dorking? Does that mean something in common slang where you live? I live in the US and I don't think that word is in common usage :here.
Victorya? Who is that? Sam 16:56, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

<snipped again>Graphitus 21:31, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Dorking. It turns out that there's just been a distasteful high-profile case come up for sentencing that's been announced today, i.e., sentence was passed yesterday and made the press today.
The case was a Municipal Buildings Inspector who disguised himself as a tramp for the purposes of conducting sexual assaults on schoolgirls. He was caught out eventually by advances in DNA testing. He is from Dorking, but will be spending probably the next 5 or so years in jail, having been sentenced to 13.
As he's of professional status and will be considered "vulnerable" (ha ha) I think his major concern is going to be boredom until he's out at the first opportunity for good behaviour, if you'll pardon my cynicism.
It's possible he was, or will end up being, satirised in a "bomik" available here called [Viz] as the character "Sherlock Homeless", given that the fictional detective [Sherlock Holmes] is commonly associated with such disguises, despite them featuring in comparatively few of the stories about him.
According to a TV feature, which I only saw some of on someone else's tele', some significant elements in the characteristic humour in [Viz], according to one of the editors, comes from his younger brother, who is also Aspergic.
Apparently they too were surprised to find there was something "wrong" with him, as he was diagnosed quite late in life and, until then, family and friends had always thought he was just like that. [Viz] was quite popular amongst some people I knew in Yorkshire, aminly self-styled "Men of The World" but I haven't really read any since about 1990.
I know about "Sherlock Homeless" because it was a new character they were promoting last summer, 2005, IIRC, and I do get to the news-stands for other reasons. I'm sure it'll have a wiki entry and you may be able to find hardback compilations on e-bay or some similar forum. It does contain graphic depictions of extreme violence and is considered for "Adults only" in the UK so if you are easily offended or conscientiously pacific in nature maybe don't bother just because there's an Asperger's connection.
Victorya was a posting name of someone I remember from a USENET tarot forum in the late 1990s. As I've seen other conventions for people adding the town or state-zip, (post-code in the UK) to their first name you may be interested to note that if you're not in LA, then cancelling out the Ls and As from Samuella does leave an anagram of MUSE, although I was wrong about the mirror palindrome, which would have been SamuelleumaS.
I write too much really don't I. You haven't appeared rude, please don't worry about that. I piecked up on Asperger's from somewhere and made this mistake of thinking I was somehow "tuned in" to you when, in reality, information seems to come at me from all over. I need to really work on improving this.

Graphitus 10:33, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your messages, and don't put the synchronicity you've been experiencing down to mere coincidence.

You may already be aware of the Wikipedia manual of style. I bring it up because, though most of it is common sense, some of the conventions are specific and not so easily guessed. I would love to see the more obscure topics in Wikipedia given the same amount of attention as the mainstream ones. They need all the contributors they can get. Sam 22:04, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm trying to make Vorbis a featured article

Hi Sam,

As the title says, I want Vorbis to become a featured article. If you'd like to help out too, it would be much appreciated. Also, if you read this message before 24 october, please go here and vote for Vorbis.--Ivo Emanuel Gonçalves/Saoshyant talk / contribs 12:33, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi there. Thanks for the heads up! Sam 21:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the vote. I don't know however how to contact the Vorbis editors, unless I leave a message to everyone's that edited the article ever, which I think is annoying and SPAM-like. If you could offer a suggestion on how to contact more people that would be great.
ps: I contacted you because I saw many edits by you on the Vorbis talk page, so I assumed you cared about the issue, and glad I wasn't wrong.--Ivo Emanuel Gonçalves/Saoshyant talk / contribs 09:22, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Ah, well, I'm glad you did because otherwise I probably never would have known a vote was even taking place. Sam 20:56, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Tarot Cards

Samuella I don´t think the images I uploaded are worse than the ones before. I spent a time recoloring them, and, I´m sorry, but I think I made a good job. Why don´t you put it on discussion. If people don´t agree with me, I will feel convinced to take them out myself. Ok? Don Leon 01:40, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I was in no way intending to be offensive and I apologize if I came off as so — it is difficult to impart any emotion whatsoever in text, much less in a summary which has a limit on length. I reverted the additions on the grounds that there are already images for those cards and replacements weren't necessary unless they were in some way superior to the images already in use. The colors in the image of The Magician, for example, were washed-out compared to the one in use previously. Nothing personal. :) Sam 01:50, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I made that coz I think the previous one was not so smooth. But somehow I agree with you about the colors. I will do something aboout.Don Leon 02:06, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Samuella, I made the "list of minor arcana cards" to turn easier the search and to induce people to improve the stub articles. I personally don´t think it´s a waste of time. My interest, as wikipedia´s, is always to expand the articles making associations with them, making them more complex. If something in a near future is gonna make people have faster access to minor arcana articles and practicity to learn, great. Why cut it??? I just ask you for before turning back my changes, to talk to me, or put it on discussion. Mine are small changes, but I think will make difference in the future.

If you see, below the article, I putted two different images, because the part in question is "Difference among decks". That´s good because readers can compare the two kinds of deck. For example. You reverted that too. You said colours were washed in the old magician. I made the picture again and intensified the colours. For what? I´m sorry if I´ve been rude any time. I just disagree with you about the situation, and I think we should discuss before reverting the others work, to achieve a better and democratic solution.

By the way, if the problem is the list I made up, Why haven´t you reverted until before the list?Don Leon 18:33, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Again, I reverted the image because it's absolutely of no point to replace the images when there is no improvement in the replacement. In fact, the image you uploaded was worse than the original; in the original, the colors and lines were crisp and clean.
I realize you want to increase availability of the recently created minor arcana articles but you can do that in other ways. I reverted the list because it obscured the original information on the suits and because it cluttered the introduction. Sam 00:31, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Vorbis votes

Unfortunately, we didn't get enough votes for the improvement of the Vorbis article. We had to get 12 votes until 7 November, but there was only 11. Oh, well. I'll still try to improve it occasionally. Thanks for your help, though.--Saoshyant talk / contribs (I don't like Wikipedophiles) 16:01, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, sorry for not responding sooner. I read your comment and meant to respond later but it totally slipped my mind.
Thank you, I've been obsessing over that article for a while and some fresh contributions are greatly appreciated, regardless of whether it's been nominated or not. Sam 05:39, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:ToriAmos-SW.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:ToriAmos-SW.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Chowbok 19:35, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

This image seems to be broken -- the "Sans serif" and "Serif" lines are 100% identical, which seems unlikely to be what you intended. Are you in a position to fix it? — Haeleth Talk 16:32, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, looks like you're right. I'm not sure what happened. It was created by merging three separate PNG images which I then autotraced in Inkscape. Perhaps I added the same image twice. Thanks for telling me, I didn't even notice until now. Sam 16:56, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Oh well. It's probably better just to leave the originals rather than create one big image. Sorry about that. Sam 17:06, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Flags

Take a look at all the prime ministers of Canada, they all have the flags in use at the time of their births (including Stephen Harper) and not the current flag. My feeling is that to be accurate the flag in use at the time of birth is the one that should be featured. There is some discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Biography as to which flag should be used. I've also left a message at Wikipedia:Canadian wikipedians' notice board/discussion. Cheers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by CambridgeBayWeather (talkcontribs) 21:18, 29 December 2006 (UTC).

Ah, thank you for clearing that up. I don't prefer one method over the other myself, I was just confused. Sam 21:23, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
