Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1971 NBA Finals, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Baltimore Bullets, George Johnson and Gus Johnson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have seen and accepted so many of your articles that it seems to me you can be brave and, even if you use your sandbox, something I do whenI create articles, you take responsibility for moving them to main namespace yourself. I suggest you bypass the Article for Creation process from now on. Just take the same care you take with the AfC submissions and all will be well. Fiddle Faddle 13:48, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Let me give you the crutch I use. User:Timtrent/A good article is decent advice to get any article off to independent life.
And may I suggest you simply grab hold of your existing sports AfC contributions and migrate them yourself. You're obviously sure they are right and are a big enough boy to take criticism .
As you find your feet, and when the edit count you have qualifies you to, why not join the AfC reviewers and at least review the article types you specialise in? Fiddle Faddle 14:15, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fiddle Faddle,

I'm sorry for taking a long time to not respond. I missed the comment you last said. It is a possibility that I would be able to join the AfC reviewers for basketball-related articles. However, it is dependent upon what Wikipedia needs. Robert4565 (talk) 13:06, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A WP:PROD is not a minor edit

[edit]

You tagged this edit as minor. This is to be used whe only superficial differences exist between the current and previous versions. Stuartyeates (talk) 02:01, 19 June 2014 (UTC) Indeed you're right. I only marked it as minor because it was obvious that the articles don't establish notability. Robert4565 (talk) 02:06, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You WP:PROD'd a whole series of articles created by me, marking the edits as minor, used empty edit summaries, without notifying me as per the instructions at Wikipedia:Proposed deletion and minimal justification. For the record, I believe that these people are notable, or I would not have created the articles. Stuartyeates (talk) 02:22, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stuartyeates,

It may be true that they are notable, but there is no indication that they are notable according to Wikipedia:Notability (people). You just say that they were a professor or scientist of some sort. You didn't say how their contribution(s) impacted society or how they are widely recognized for their contributions (assuming the subjects are notable). Articles about people do need a realiable, secondary sources. Without this, it doesn't establish notability. Edit summaries are not required, but they are recommended and I do see why you would have wanted me to write an edit summary. Also, you should have been notified when I put the tag on the article. Robert4565 (talk) 02:58, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'm sorry for marking them as "minor", I know it's a pain for other editors to see something that is "minor" which really isn't "minor". Robert4565 (talk) 03:07, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When you say "Also, you should have been notified when I put the tag on the article." I'm not quite sure how you think notifications work, but each of the PROD'd articles currently says "Please consider notifying the author/project: {{subst:proposed deletion notify|Francis Raymond Callaghan|concern=Notability not established}} ~~~~" which seems like a reasonably clear indication that you have to do that extra step to notify the creator, if you'd read the tag you placed. Edit summaries would have allowed me (and other editors) to notice in my watch list that a mass-deletion-proposing was under way. Stuartyeates (talk) 03:36, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stuartyeates,

I should have notified you so you and other editors could see my reason. I'm sure you know how the AFD works so if you want to further improve your articles you should do that. Robert4565 (talk) 03:40, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So now I'm confused. (a) WP:PROD, which is the process you started on these articles is completely different to WP:AfD. (b) These articles were created by me in a semi-scripted fashion (See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_New_Zealand/Archive_3#Wikipedia:WikiProject_Missing_encyclopedic_articles.2FNZ.2FDictionary_of_New_Zealand_Biography / Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/NZ/Dictionary of New Zealand Biography for the gory details) and while I hope and believe that they're notable, I'll not be going in to bat or !vote for them in their current form, although other members of Wikipedia:WikiProject_New_Zealand may do so. Stuartyeates (talk) 20:14, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stuartyeates, yes you are right I started WP:PROD not AFD. I'm sorry for using the wrong word. Robert4565 (talk) 20:18, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
