A few more comments on Automated conveyor roller condition monitoring

1. What are you trying to reference with constructs such as: (Roberts, 1981; Smith and Spriggs, 1981). Are you referencing the dissertation, which in turn references Roberts? That's a horrible ref. We don't normally reference dissertations. It can be done, but generally only when the dissertation has been references in reliable sources. See WP:SCHOLARSHIP. You appear to be doing the exact opposite and using the dissertation to source the original work. Don't do this.
2. Don't copy material. I removed some verbatim copyright violations, and I suspect that there is more in this article.
3. Don't add external links. Your focus on the proprietary technology and trademarks is looking rather spammy. Do you have a conflict of interest? See WP:COI.
4. Don't add pointless images. They were obviously taken from some presentation and contributed absolutely nothing to this article. Meters (talk) 04:44, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Are you planning on fixing the problems with Automated conveyor roller condition monitoring or should I see if it should be deleted? It's an interesting topic and one I have some experience with, but this article is a mess. It's basically pulled from two dissertations, a company webpage, and a few rather promotional pieces of coverage. We need independent reliable sources showing the notability of the topic. Is this actually being used commercially? Who by? What are the results? If this is just a startup then it's probably too soon for an article. Meters (talk) 07:59, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

I am planning on continually working on the article. I wanted to get some information up as a starting point, of which I can refine with time. Also learning how to use Wikipedia edits takes time. I am interested in the field of automated conveyor roller monitoring as I am a conveyor engineer. The company referenced is the only commercial company providing an internal solution, and so I thought was materially relevant to the article. Why introduce the section but not write about the solutions/companies available!?Ryan Norris161531 (talk) 03:29, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

It's not a good idea to create an article before you know how to do it, and before you have all your material ready. That's a very good way to see your work deleted. It should not be in article space until it is a decent article already. Article space is not the place to learn to write an article and to put up an article that you are still developing. Do so in draft space or your sandbox where a substandard or partially finished article is not subject to the same scrutiny.

And please answer all of my questions. What are you trying to do with those references? Read WP:COI and state whether you have a conflict of interest in the school dissertations or the company you have written about. Meters (talk) 04:04, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
