Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Helm Spencer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lancashire League (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your DYK article is way too short - Template:Did you know nominations/Hyde Park Holocaust memorial. SL93 (talk) 20:20, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Marex Spectron

HI,

Thanks for your message re: my amends to the Marex Spectron corporate page. You are quite right: I do have a conflict of interest in that I am an employee of the company.

We noticed recently that the page was significantly out of date and in a few places wrong (CEO had changed, employee and revenue numbers were wrong, some of the history was wrong). I therefore jumped in to edit - I did state in my edit notes that I am an employee and created a username that's fairly unambiguous but I should have checked the process more closely and submitted the changes to an admin first. Apologies for that.

I hope the page I have created is appropriately neutral - certainly I've taken any qualitative ("leading, "dominant" etc) language out and aimed to just state what we do plainly.

I have a couple of references to track down but that would end my editing, until something material changes at the firm: when it does I'll submit future alterations to admins.

Thanks again,

Richard RichardMarexSpectron (talk) 12:03, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi Richard. Thanks very much for the reply. Neutral, unbiased and objective article writing on a subject with which you are involved is fine - in fact it can make you an experton the subject. As long as you are aware of the pitfals of inherent bias and its risks when you are writing on a subject to which you are linked so closely, then that is okay. If you plan to edit on Wikipedia more I might advise you change your username (see Wikipedia:Changing Username). S.G.(GH) ping! 13:21, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
