The Harder They Come (film) - Plot section, Re: "alternate endings"

Hello Safety Cap,

I almost posted on the discussion page before editing the article. The original text of the article (that you reverted to) says there are two "alternate endings", and the difference is between the subtitled and non-subtitled versions. I am 99.9% sure this is inaccurate, primarily because I have seen both versions, which may qualify as impermissible "independent research", I don't know.

The difference between the two endings is very minor. The final shot lasts a few seconds longer in one version, making it slightly more obvious that Ivan is in fact dead. In the version with a longer final shot, a policeman disarms Ivan's corpse. After this shot, there is the gyrating female pelvis and the end credits.

The text that I removed from the article implied (but did not explicitly state) that the final 10 minutes were changed, not just a few seconds. Also, the Salon article linked as a source does not corroborate the preceding statement. I guess that is "not in source given".

I did some Googling, and my memory seems to be correct. The difference is very minor, but it was trumped up because the short version makes some people doubt whether Ivan is dead. I think it was obvious in both versions that he is dead.
