License tagging for File:Lugar.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Lugar.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:06, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Hatch-bakuria.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Hatch-bakuria.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 21:06, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alexander Mashkevitch[edit]

Please discuss the problems you have with the article on the talk page before making such significant changes. The issue I have is that your prefered version of the article has poor formatting and appears to be largely promotional. The version I have reverted to is better formatted and better sourced (in my opinion), and therefore more appropriate for a Biography of a Living Person. If you have any questions or suggestions please present them on my talk page or the article's talk page. Thankyou. 141.163.196.7 (talk) 17:28, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You could, if you wanted to, discuss the issues you have with the article on the article's talk page, then we can work together to solve whatever problems the article has and create something which satisfies everyone. 141.163.196.7 (talk) 01:35, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Up until now I have been editing this article as the fixed IP 141.163.196.7. I would like to make you aware of my intent to work on this article logged in as Rtdixon86 from now on. Before you try to edit the article again please discuss your opinion on either my talk page here:User talk:Rtdixon86 or on the article's talk page here:Talk:Alexander Mashkevitch. Thankyou. Rtdixon86 (talk) 16:45, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Editing advice[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Alexander Mashkevitch. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Before making any potentially controversial edits, I suggest that you establish consensus on the talk page. Also, I suggest you have a look at the manual of style for guidance on how Wikipedia articles should be formatted. PhilKnight (talk) 20:52, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. PhilKnight (talk) 17:45, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More editing advice[edit]

As I've already suggested, before making any potentially controversial edits, you should establish consensus on the talk page. At the moment, the consensus on the talk page is clearly against your preferred version. If you believe there are issues relating to the Biographies of Living Persons policy, which would include concerns such as potentially libellous material, I suggest you consider posting on the Biographies of Living Persons noticeboard. PhilKnight (talk) 19:35, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss[edit]

Please discuss the problems you have with the article on its talk page and resist reverting again. Rtdixon86 (talk) 15:49, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sbakuria. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents [[2]] regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Rtdixon86 (talk) 21:33, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Alexander Mashkevitch, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.alexandermashkevich.com/Bio_Mashkevich.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Possible copyright violation[edit]

As the text on this page says, please do not edit the page until an administrator has resolved this issue. Thank you.--Rockfang (talk) 17:50, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio[edit]

OK, you have reverted to many times,I have blocked you for three hours. Please discuss the issue, and do not just restore the apparent copyvio. Rich Farmbrough, 18:29, 17 August 2009 (UTC).[reply]

12 hour block[edit]

Following your previous block, you've continued to post the same content without discussion, so I've blocked your account for 12 hours. PhilKnight (talk) 21:02, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

You are continuing to ignore warnings and requests for discussion. The information you delete seems to be reliably sourced. Your edits also lead to poor a format. Please stop this behaviour. I have also filed a notice here: [3] Rtdixon86 (talk) 15:54, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violations[edit]

No more copyright violations from you. Not a single one. Your next will be your last with this account. This means no more passing off photographs, prose, or anything else as your own work when it is not. We are not so deperately in need of yet another notification about these BLP concerns that we are prepared to tolerate copyright violation along with it. Uncle G (talk) 04:20, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • You re-uploaded File:Pope.JPG with the same "own work" claim as before (despite your statement elsewhere that it actually is someone else's work) after this warning. That's it. Your editing privilges here are gone. Uncle G (talk) 12:36, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
