Changing your Username[edit]

Hello Schlotzskys, I'm Mlpearc a volunteer with the Account Creation Team, I just revived your second request for an account. That request will be dropped. The correct way to request a name change is to follow the instructions here: Wikipedia:Changing username, Account Creations cannot change your username. please follow the above link and your change request will be handled there. Thank you,

[edit]

Still need help with changing a username. I tried to register a second account with Schlotzsky's (WITH apostrophe) but it tells me it's too close to my current username. I just want to move forward using Schlotzsky's instead of Schlotzskys. I went to the link you provided and couldn't find any instruction on how to actually move forward with making a username change. Please help! SchlotzskysSchlotzskys (talk) 17:04, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just figured out where to go to make the request. I think I have it taken care of! Schlotzskys (talk) 17:12, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's WP:CHUS just in case. Cheers, Ocaasi c 17:13, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Schlotzsky's do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.
Your edit here to Schlotzsky's was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/schlotzskys) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Your attention needed at WP:CHU[edit]

Hello. A bureaucrat or clerk has responded to your username change request, but requires clarification before moving forward. Please follow up at your username change request entry as soon as possible. Thank you. –xenotalk 14:06, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

July 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Schlotzskys) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Schlotzsky's.
