Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Serge4u, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Serge Sharrinovsky, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Serge Sharrinovsky, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Serge Sharrinovsky. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Serge Sharrinovsky, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. andy (talk) 12:57, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

deleting your account

[edit]

Hi wiki

how do you delete your account and rescind terms

  • You can't delete your account because the edits you made have to belong to someone - if you disappeared then they'd be phantom edits and that would mess things up. But you can simply stop using your account! See this. andy (talk) 18:37, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

please just delete this user account

If you want to learn how to remove yourself from here place the text {{Adminhelpme}} here followed by your request. Facts here must be supported in reliable sources. Wikipedia reports what others have said. It does not make its own reports. It appears that your autobiography/biography has been deleted as non notable because those sources were absent. Those are the breaks I'm afraid, and part of the dangers of trying to use Wikipedia to enhance your reputation. When you are notable then you get an article. Itls a bt like auditioning. Wikipedia accounts are not deleted. You can simply stop using it. You may blank this talk page, if you wish, but the history is retained for the record. If you want more than that, and you are leaving Wikipedia permanently, see Wikipedia:Courtesy vanishing for what you can do. JohnCD (talk) 13:15, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop placing copyrighted material here

[edit]

stop It is obvious that Wikipedia should never be cited. Wikipedia even says so. This is not news, nor is it a valid complaint. But you are not allowed to place copyrighted material here. It belongs to other people. Fiddle Faddle 13:00, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed that material. However, Wikipedia takes copyright breach very seriously. You must not do it. This is your first and final warning. Formal warning follows. Fiddle Faddle 13:04, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No joy here trying to delete my user account

[edit]

Please search on google and read

"Alternatives to Wikipedia"

"Reasons not to use wikipedia"

they delete them here if I post them cause its considered copyright. hmmm!

  • The web sites you copied and pasted verbatim material from state that they are copyright. WIkipedia has many faults and you are welcome to state them all, but you must use your own words.
A mechanism for vanishing is pointed out to you above. Why not use it? Fiddle Faddle 13:27, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just delete this user account as asked, Its simply no longer needed for the above reasons which you have removed and everyone can now read for themselves via google. (also should ad it just not what I expected from a user post date base either but that's just me)

Also sorry I just find it really hard to believe it can't be done for any reason (ie delete an account). Guess the clever IT guys out there, that are not "bad scientist" or affiliates of Wikipedia can sort that one out for themselves.

Thank you

In the meantime, I will keep asking

One element about WIkipedia that I view as a fault is the inability to delete an account. To me your request makes sense, but it has never been possible. The best of the poor explanations are here. Unfotunately you will just have to ride with it unless you can persuade someone that it is a good idea to allow account deletion. I am not that person. I have no powers here of any description. Fiddle Faddle 15:14, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks appreciate your comment, and understand where your coming from, it is a shame for everyone , just my opinion rightfully or wrongfully, but I get the feeling someone can do it, every computer keyboard has a delete key, but since that means extra work for someone, there is 101 excuses to fall back on, but hey don't sweat it, you get that everywhere. I'll keep asking the board of trustees to consider doing something about.

In some jurisdictions it may not be lawful either, not to allow deletion. However that depends on so many fancy high priced lawyers that one may as well give up the fight.
Changing the subject completely, if you can show me notability for yourself in WP:RS I am more than happy to work with you to create the article that could not remain perviously. I hope you understand that there is absolutely never anything personal in anything I do here. I've been here a long while, I understand the rules, and I know how impossible they are to change. Given a glimmer of RS cited notability I can produce the start of something. If I can do that well enough then others will add to it. My advice to you would be to stand clear of any work on it, simply asking for factual inaccuracies to be corrected. There is no guarantee that I can succeed, but I am willing to give it a decent try.
If you want to take advantage of that when you are ready, drop me a note on my own talk page, singing it with ~~~~ which turn automagically into your signature. You may have to face the issue that you are, as am I, only notable to those who love you, but that is not such a bad thing to be either. Fiddle Faddle 17:15, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
