Question from WIKICWF (02:09, 27 February 2024)
Hi, I am new to Wiki Edit, I am confused how to creat a new page. I creat a new page called WAIN Electrical, i have submitted it to review, but did not hear anything back. Do I have to creat the page again? --WIKICWF (talk) 02:09, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- @WIKICWF Welcome to Wikipedia. I see you submitted Draft:WAIN Electrical 3x but did not engage with the feedback made by other contributors. If you do not improve the article by satisfying the rules in WP:42 including independent and secondary coverage, then it won't be accepted. See WP:Your first article for more details. You are welcome to submit again, once you've made the necessary improvements. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 02:16, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello How do i have all medical drugs dictionary? --Dr Tamim asefi (talk) 04:05, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Dr Tamim asefi Welcome to Wikipedia! If I understood you right, WP:WikiProject Medicine is a friendly community of editors interested in editing about Medical topics. If you are trying to access academic journals, Wikimedia has institutional partnerships with academic journals. However it requires having at least 500 edits and being active. You can find more details here Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library. Happy editing and researching! In general for getting started on Wikipedia I would recommend going thru WP:TUTORIAL. Your GA nomination of IBM and unions
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article IBM and unions you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. FYI, I will be a bit unavailable for a few days but still plan to finish this within 7 days. Mokadoshi (talk) 05:32, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Mokadoshi is that still the plan? I am sincerely unsure if it was a wise idea to open 4 GAs simultaneously when you know you won't be able to edit much this week. In any case, I am around/available. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 01:13, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Shushugah I don’t have 4 GAs open so I’m not sure what you’re referring to. Maybe you have me confused with someone else? In any case, I only planned to be away for 2 days but something came up that I didn’t expect. I can try to get this completed in less than 24 hours from now. Unless you have a different preference? Like for example if you have someone else that’s ready to review instead of me then I’m happy to allow them to do so. Let me know what works for you. Mokadoshi (talk) 05:33, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Question from MikeEviscerate on Elementary arithmetic (16:36, 7 April 2024)
First few questions for my mentor.
Is it okay to omit parts of an article that are related, but happen to irrelevant from my viewpoint?
This article (Elementary arithmetic) mentions the Telefol language for the "Digits" section, which is an elaboration of how different languages use different bases. However, I've assumed it's irrelevant. Because no digits, nor written numerical systems are described, only that Telefol uses a different base.
Additionally, what about poorly described parts? Parts which are true, but are so badly ill-cited and described that I think it's better to be removed. Or, should I leave it in and wait for someone else? I am talking about the "computers are known for using binary" --MikeEviscerate (talk) 16:36, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of IBM and unions
The article IBM and unions you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:IBM and unions and Talk:IBM and unions/GA2 for issues which need to be addressed. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Mokadoshi -- Mokadoshi (talk) 21:24, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Shushugah I am happy to keep this nomination open until Friday, but I think I'll have to fail it at that point since it is hard for me to remember everything from the article after that long. Looking forward to hearing from you, Mokadoshi (talk) 04:48, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of IBM and unions
The article IBM and unions you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:IBM and unions for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Mokadoshi -- Mokadoshi (talk) 06:41, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi, unfortunately I've had to fail your GA nomination of IBM and unions due to not responding to suggestions in a timely manner. According to the GA instructions, it is customary for an article to be put on hold for 7 days to address feedback. Your nomination has been on hold for five weeks and still there are outstanding issues. In these last few weeks, I have pinged you multiple times on your Talk page and on the nomination page. I explained to you why this is important: that if too much time passes between iterations, I have to re-read all the sources and the article to verify changes, which effectively means I have to do the review multiple times. I am sorry if you had off-wiki circumstances that prevented you from responding, but since you are still editing elsewhere on the site, I have to believe you could have let me know and we could have worked it out. Additionally, I don't appreciate that you criticized how long it took me to complete the review (about 7 days) but it's been more than twice that since your last reply. So, you are welcome to renominate the article when you do have the time to appropriately address feedback, and I hope the work that has already been done so far is helpful to you and the future reviewer. Thanks, Mokadoshi (talk) 06:24, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Mokadoshi thank you for your feedback, and also generosity in reviewing it, and I apologise I didn't reciprocate ideally in my behaviour. The article has improved since with your review, and while (due to my own failing) hasn't reached GA status, it is in a better state now, which I consider to be a positive step forward. Thank you! ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 10:20, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

Question from Full Court Zone Press on Elvin Hayes (05:22, 19 May 2024)
The page incorrectly mentioned UCLA used a triangle-and-two defense in the national semifinal against Houston. Actually, it was a diamond-and-one. John Wooden wrote, “(Lynn Shackelford was) assigned to Hayes as the chaser in the diamon and one. His sole assignment was Hayes” (“They Call Me Coach,” p. 155). There is much more said about the defense, which was quite fascinating, but this correctly states the defense. --Full Court Zone Press (talk) 05:22, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

Mentorship
Hey @Shushugah! Got an email saying you're my mentor (as I assume also did many others on this talk page?). Nice to meet, very excited to present this goat 🐐 (Her name is Pzizah. Take good care of her).
Is there a way to send private messages? This isn't really my main question.
It's a challenge to decide what to focus on, since the vast amount of knowledge here can get overwhelming. I like to explore both historical and contemporary entertainment, and I found that citations for contemporary artists is very challenging. What are some resources can you recommend for fact checking?
Also would love to hear what are some pitfalls to avoid as a novice editor.
א גרויסע דאנק - AristoShmon (talk) 01:12, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Lovely to meet Pzizah! I enclosed some helpful links on your talk page at User talk:AristoShmon. One of my favorite resources for finding quality sources is WP:LIBRARY which is only available for editors with at least 500 edits, but that can be an internal goal. For contemporary artists, I definitely think there's sometimes a tension with WP:TOOSOON and or WP:PROMO which leads to more puff pieces being used, instead of scholarly/analytical sources. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 17:38, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from Fiddlyona66 on Henry Plumer McIlhenny (18:48, 14 July 2024)
Hi
I would like some of the content on Henry McIlhenny 's page removed regarding his private life. How do I do this? Thanks for any help --Fiddlyona66 (talk) 18:48, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Fiddlyona66 welcome to English Wikipedia! I enclosed some helpful starting links on your talk page User talk:Fiddlyona66.
- What information would you like to remove and why? We follow policy guidelines, which include WP:NOTCENSORED and WP:BLP in case of living subjects, but for a dead person, we follow more generic WP:BIOGRAPHY. In case you have a personal affiliation with the article subject, you should declare a WP:Conflict of Interest and make a {{Request edit}}. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 17:45, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- I would like to have the article regarding his relationship with Andrew Crispo removed.
- This is a fabrication. Henry McIlhenny did not have a relationship with this man.
- My Mother was in his employ from 1946 until his death in 1986.
- My Uncle was his personal Butler from 1954.
- He travelled with him from Ireland to America every year.
- He never heard of Andrew Crispo.
- He knew all his close contacts.
- It's awful that almost 40 years after his death his name is being sullied with an association with Andrew Crispo.
- Henry McIlhenny made a very generous gift to Ireland leaving the state Glenveagh Castle and Gardens.
- Please help us in our quest to have that paragraph removed.
- Thank you for any assistance.
- Regards

Hi Shushugah. I am a TaskUs employee, and need some help reworking the the company's Wiki. It was created in 2021 and a lot has happened since. I noticed your interest in companies and your contributions to other articles about outsourcing companies like TaskUs. My suggestions for expanding and updating the TaskUs article are posted on the Talk page. I understand that I'm not supposed to make such big overhauls on my own and would be so grateful for your help. Can you please take a look and let me know what you think? Current work
Newcomer Homepage Community Updates module
We will add a new Community Configurable module to the Newcomer Homepage that will allow communities to highlight specific events, projects, campaigns, and initiatives. We have released a simple version available to beta wikis. We will conduct an A/B test at our pilot wikis using the new Metrics Platform. We still welcome community feedback on initial designs and plans, in any language at our project talk page.
Future work
Increase constructive activation on mobile
As part of the Growth team 2024/2025 Annual Plan, the Growth team will explore various ways to increase the percentage of newcomers who successfully start editing.
Editing a Wikipedia page requires too much context and patience. It means many trial and error for newcomers to contribute, meaning a steeper learning curve and potential discouraging reverts. To support a new generation of volunteers, we will increase the number and availability of smaller, structured, and more task-specific editing workflows (E.g. Edit Check and Structured Tasks). The Growth team will primarily focus on Structured Tasks, while working closely with the Editing team to ensure our work integrates well with Edit Check.

How to make a new page? --Hasan Saiful TCP (talk) 14:45, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Hasan Saiful TCP Welcome! Creating a new article from scratch is extremely challenging, and new editors are strongly recommended to spend a few months learning how Wikipedia works, by making improvements to some of our existing seven million articles before trying it. When you do decide to have a go at a new article, you are highly encouraged to read WP:Your first article. If you haven't already also check out WP:TUTORIAL; it's a lot of fun! Question from Yinka Oladele (20:04, 6 August 2024)
Hello, i am a new editor on Wikipedia. I am about to move my sandbox to the live page but i dont know how to make sure my article is not an orphan --Yinka Oladele (talk) 20:05, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Yinka Oladele welcome to Wikipedia! The article Yinka Oladele appears to be about yourself, which means you have a WP:Conflict of interest. It's common for articles to have different issues like being an WP:ORPHAN etc.. but the very first thing would be for other editors to assess whether this is WP:Notable by English Wikipedia standards. WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY might be a good essay for you to read. Happy editing! ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 20:23, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Tentativejupiter (13:58, 21 August 2024)
Hello!
I noticed an image I added to the page I created was removed, but to my knowledge it does not violate any copyright rules, etc. Where can I dispute this violation?
I'm trying to add an image from a Time magazine cover, which is relevant to my article. I see on Time magazine's wiki page they have covers on there too, so I'm trying to understand why it was removed for my submission (which is still under review).
Thank you --Tentativejupiter (talk) 13:58, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Tentativejupiter Welcome to Wikipedia! All images on Commons:Main can be used here without restriction however WP:Fair use images can only be used on published articles which drafts are not and satisfy WP:NFCC criteria.
