Hi Skier dude

i have couple of questions about the prosedure of uploading and legality of the photos that i want to upload to an article. Dude, i am confused how everything works properly. the article is about the architect, Mr.Foad Rafii. the additional photos that i want to upload are about his style of design and are taken by: 1- himself 2- one of the emploees 3- a paid professional photographer in order to be used for pamphlets, advertising, their website and office needs, etc. Mr. rafii is comfortable about using these photos on his page but wanted to make sure the procedure is legal. He is willing to send wikipedia an email; confirming the source of these photos. Il-76 vs IL-78

Hello, There are two kinds of IL-78s. The early models were basically an IL-76MD in which removable fuel tanks were installed in the hold, fuel pods under the wings and in the tail (along with appropriate plumbing), a refueller station installed in the tail gunner's station. They retained the rear ramp, the rear door. In those aircraft, one could easily remove the pods, the large tanks in the hold, and you had what basically became an IL-76 transport. With the IL-78M this was no longer possible. The rear cargo doors were removed and the larger tanks in the holds were permanently installed. There were permanent tanker aircraft (and had a higher gross weight of 210 tonnes) It was common for a military IL-76MD to be sold to an airline which then called its aircraft an IL-76TD, although it still had the military gear like the gunner turret. In the same vein, in some countries (Ukraine did this a lot), the tanks and pods were removed from IL-78s and they were converted into apparent IL-76s. It is very possible and likely that the picture aircraft was a real IL-78 with pods and tanks removed. It would still have all the plumbing installed, as well as the refueller station located in the tail gunner's position.Hudicourt (talk) 23:04, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:The Lamp Poster.jpg

Hi Skier Dude,

Thanks for the note on the "File:The Lamp Poster.jpg." originally at [[1]]. The poster had vanished and I thought maybe I hadn't loaded it correctly so I reloaded it. I did not mean to reload what was taken down intentionally. I would never have done that.

Obviously, I don't understand "fair use" yet because I thought the poster qualified. I can get permission from the film's production company and producer if needed (or am I just using the wrong kind of license?)

The material I use for articles all come from original material and I do scale them down to 3-4 inches as the original posters are 36" to 48". I use 240 pixels in the scale down while my original is at 300. Is this too large at 3-4" and 240. I wanted to have clear and crisp images were possible. However, I will do whatever is required.

All other articles on the "LAM" page were sent to me by the production company. Are those licenses incorrect and am I just better off not loading any images w/o explicit permission? Most of my image material is from original prints but if it's too large, I will do what is required.

I know you are busy and newbies like me have got to be a bug. I apologize. I will catch on eventually (and I do read the Wikipedia material). Reckon I have a high confusion factor.

Image deletion [File:Trinity church.JPG]

Hi Skier, thank you for bringing this to my attention. Ive repsonded on the deletion discussion. The image was taken in St thomas, Ontario. The church was the successor to Old St. Thomas Church built in 1877 and the image was originally meant to complement that above article. I just havent gotten around to it- lots of time issues and that that it had slipt my mind to do so :( .Cheers and happy editing Ottawa4ever (talk) 06:12, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Holocaust historical documents

Could you please explain why the files that I put into the Category:Holocaust historical documents were removed? How could I go about getting this images into that category under the title "media". This would greatly improve public access to documentation.Hoops gza (talk) 08:56, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

I believe you're talking about File:WannseeList.jpg File:Sonderfahndungsbuch Polen G.jpg File:Sonderfahndungsbuch Polen.jpg and a couple of others. These images are at wikipedia commons and the categorization of the images takes place there, and not here. So you simply need to go to the images and place them in the correct category/categories over there. Skier Dude (talk) 17:13, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

currently there isn't a cross-categorisation between projects. If the images are included in an en.wiki article and someone does click on the image, they will be able to get to the categories on the commons page. 198.30.163.66 (talk) 15:15, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)} According to the terms of service page http://www.weathertap.com/guides/tos.html, WeatherTAP retain all copyright to their images, so there is no evidence the Creative Commons Attribution licence is proper. In addition, it appears that there are over a dozen probable non-free images (logos, screenshots, etc.) included in that image that are not de minimis and that would need to be dealt with individually. Regarding image [File:BingCrosbyCBS1933.jpg]

Hi, Skier Dude. You tagged [File:BingCrosbyCBS1933.jpg] for deletion because it's now an orphan after being deleted from CBS. Sorry not to know more about this, but this image is the standard-issue CBS promotional photo that most likely never was copyrighted, though I cannot prove that. There are currently a couple '50s-era CBS Honeymooners photos of the identical purpose that are in the process of going to the Commons as public domain images under the

Template for user asking for files to be speedily deleted?

Hi Skier Dude. Apologies for bothering you yet again, but for the hay heck I can't find an explicitly specific template for "user requests deletion" of a file analogous to {{db-g7}} for aricles. Is {{db-author}} the right one to use? Orphaned fair use pics in question are File:PenguinModernClassics HelenGarner TheChildren-sBach Cover.JPG and File:Penguin 1982 HelenGarner Honour&OtherPeople'sChildren Cover.jpg. I've added {{db-author}} to them. Your help as always greatly appreciated. If that was the right thing to do, no reply needed, but please do drop me a note if I have borked this up. SkiersBot tagging biographies with WikiProject Film banner

SkiersBot is incorrectly tagging some (eg. [2], [3], [4]) film related biographies with the {{WikiProject Film}} banner. Biographies are not under WikiProject Film's scope so these articles should not be tagged with the banner. These articles should instead be tagged with the {{WikiProject Biography}} banner with the filmbio-work-group parameter set to "yes". Could you fix this? Found it - it's in Category:Film biography stubs - the only biographical set that's included therein. I'm sort of ambivalent about the inclusion therein, but do see some sense in it. Don't know if it's worth brining it up for comment about it's relevance in that category tree... Will do a double check to see if there were any others in that last run. Hi! The article on Steffen Thomas is my first article, and I am utterly confused about images - I've read, read, and read the guidelines some more, and just confused myself (especially on the copyrights). Can you help guide me through how I can add them without them being deleted? Pamina is linked to the User:HHaney/Steffen Thomas. If I move the page, will it be able to stay? And I will follow the guidelines on the other two (Steffen Thomas, artist.jpg & STMA-Interior-2010.jpg). Any advice would be wonderful!
