[edit]Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Smusma2. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Rose Dodd, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 06:14, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hello! I saw your message on Theroadislong's page. Are you working or Rose Dodd or her publisher? Thanks. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 06:15, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit] As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Draft:Rose Dodd, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Smusma2, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Smusma2|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Sulfurboy (talk) 07:45, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:29, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
Rose Dodd wikipedia page
[edit]I am trying again to contact you to ask about Rose Dodd wikipedia page.
Apparently I have to sign a COI? I am not being paid. I contributed to her book on Christopher Fox - with a chapter and set one of her poems in 1996. Her publisher thought I would be a good person to write her page as I am also a composer/writer.
I am new to wikipedia and honestly find it confusing. Could you please let me know how I 'officially' submit the page with the COI. I have to admit, I am completely lost.

- You asked this on my talk page where I replied, see WP:DISCLOSE. Theroadislong (talk) 18:57, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
