Help with RFC

Hello there, sorry for the form-letter post.... I am writing you because your edits of Halifax, Nova Scotia, like a half dozen others, since January, have been reverted by one user, Lonewolf BC.

I have recently lodged a Request for Comments on the Talk:Halifax, Nova Scotia page. I and several other editors have had a running dispute with user Lonewolf BC. The RFC is This is a dispute about whether it is accurate to continue to refer to the area of or approximately coinciding with the boundaries of the City of Halifax, which became a part of the rural/urban Halifax Regional Municipality in 1996, as a city.

Basically, as I say on the RFC, we all agree that this is no longer a City, but to use former City's boundaries when describing the current urban area as a "city" (note the lower case) is at best arbitrary and at worst a fabrication. The city is now a continuous area that wraps the harbour, from Portuguese Cove (outside of the city of Halifax to the west and south) to Cole Harbour (outside of the former City of Dartmouth to the east). People now refer to the entire urban area of Halifax Regional Municipality as 'the city' and 'Halifax'.

Anyway, the bottom line is at least five people have tried to change the wording of the intro since January, and every time this one user changes it back. I have tried to come up with compromise wording, and he won't dialog. Right now wikipedia says HRM and Halifax are the capital of Nova Scotia. This article is now factually incorrect, in my opinion, and I need your help, please chime in. WayeMason 23:14, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

If you've got a problem with Sonyuser's edits, you should begin by talking to Sonyuser about it. Evidently you have not done that, from looking at your editing history of late. Looking over the edits Sonyuser has made in the past few days, I cannot see anything troublesome about them (not that I necessarily agree with each and every one of them). Accusing other editors of being sockpuppets should not be done recklessly. Going to an admin behind an editor's back, with accusations of "stirring up trouble" and suspicions of sockpuppetry, without any substantial grounds, and seemingly without having made any attempt to take your concerns to that editor directly, beforehand, is very poor form. -- Lonewolf BC 23:27, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

I don't know that I have any problems with Sonyuser's edits (because I haven't looked through many of them), but I had a problem with the edits of Matthvm. Having a sockpuppet of his called Compaquser banned and then having another user pop up with a suspiciously similar name and suspiciously similar editing habits (adding telephone exchange #s, postal codes, unique formatting errors) stuck out at me. If I were being reckless, I would've posted it somewhere more significant than an administrator's talk page, like WP:SOCK. I wanted a second opinion, and I'm obviously not going to try to find it from Sonyuser himself. Sprocket 01:50, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

• That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
