Editing talk page comments, etc.

[edit]

Hi Statisticspedia. While I'm pretty sure that you mean well, you need to be very careful in editing talk page comments made by others as explained in WP:TPO. Talk pages aren't held to the same standards are articles so removing extra spaces or correcting apparent errors is not really something which needs to be done unless there a serious policy or guideline violation which needs addressing or there's a major formatting or syntax error that hinders understanding. Going around editing posts left by others is generally a quick way to find yourself having problems with other editors because in the worst case scenario you change something that changes the intended meaning of the post. I also suggest you be careful editing policy or guideline pages as well since even a slight change could have implications that go beyond that particular page.

Now, if you want to go around removing spaces from articles, etc. then you can; however, you should be a little more cautious with anything outside of the WP:MAINSPACE. If you make some changes, though, you should make sure you leave an edit summary so that others know why the change was made. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:12, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

== User pages == sure i'm not going to do it again

Don't edit other peoples' userpages, please. Acroterion (talk) 01:51, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Again, don't do that. And Wikipedia style (and most others) doesn't use apostrophes in date ranges. Acroterion (talk) 01:57, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in MP3. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please stop your removal of dashes and hyphens. See MOS:DASH for information about the proper use of dashes. LiberatorG (talk) 20:08, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
