Please don't use Welsh in your edit summaries

[edit]

As this is the English language encyclopedia, we expect editors to use English to communicate. If you really want to edit in Welsh, why not edit the Welsh Wikipedia? Doug Weller talk 08:29, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Averbury

[edit]

Wikipedia is based on what sources meeting our criteria at WP:RS say about a subject. You changed 'weala-dic, meaning "moat of the Britons" to read "moat of the Welsh/Britons", but the source, Aubrey Burl, doesn't use the word Welsh. Nor does for instance this source.[1] It might be possible to add your version as an alternative if you have a suitable academic source, but not to change it. Wikipedia has a learning curve and new editors aren't expected to be familiar with our guidelines and polices - I certainly made similar errors when I was new. Information icon Hello, I'm Nzd. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Neville Southall, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Bagillt Lake moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Bagillt Lake, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. How would I go about adding citations?

I found information on Spanish and French Wikipædia sites. I know it’s popular but does Wikipædia not accept Wikipædia as a reliable source? SteCymru14 (talk) 08:23, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dankeschön | Diolch yn fawr SteCymru14 (talk) 08:24, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Any news on whether Spanish, French and Welsh Wikipædia are reliable sources of proof that this lake exists?

Unreal. SteCymru14 (talk) 20:36, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Still not content with the fact that articles for this lake exist in French and Spanish? Absolute joke. SteCymru14 (talk) 10:58, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm MichaelMaggs. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Somerset, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. MichaelMaggs (talk) 10:24, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I guess the source would be... erm... THE WELSH LANGUAGE!?! How can I cite a language, my friend? SteCymru14 (talk) 10:56, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No answer? That’s good of you. SteCymru14 (talk) 07:58, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Theodiscus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Breton. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
