Rollback

Sorry, wasn't trying to be impolite. But, I don't think we have any way of knowing who would want to know about such things, so I think the best we can do it post it on the talk page of the user concerned and hope everyone sees it. I agree it was given back too soon. But, it's probably hard for people to resist such enthusiastic requests. Hmm. When they first implemented user rights management for admins, even null changes got logged. Now it appears they have fixed this "bug" (altho, I considered it a feature at the time.) I think the best I can offer is this: since it's been added and removed now a few times, I suspect admins will be more reluctant to just give it back. The page that lets you change the permissions shows the log, so hopefully anyone wanting to do it will notice it. Although... If he does like he's done every time before, he'll soon start shopping around for admins will to re-grant it. All he needs to do is find one who does it without noticing the log. So the best way is for him to simply not ask for it back- nobody's going to grant it without a request, most likely. Friday (talk) 15:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll do what I can. An unusual and rare request, I know, but I oversee a petty dispute that needs some sort of intervention. Normally I wouldn't have asked, but I could forsee a revert war if something wasn't done. The troubles of running a wikiproject (sigh). On a happier note, congrats on the RFA :D. Stop your bot

Your WikiProject Ireland edits are not replacing the template accurately. You need to use the spelling "WikiProject Ireland" not Wikiproject Ireland". BTW, User:BrownHairedGirl was going to do this with her bot. It had been discussed here but you are doing here request as her PC is down but as mentioned it is not correct. I see that in the meantime User:Schcambo has made a new redirect using the wrong capitalisation. The whole point was that there should be no redirects because it messes up the assessment statistics. Perhaps in revising your edits you can delete the new redirect after you finish the new run with the correct capitraliastion, or we can ask BHG to do it. Awards

Steve, just wanted you to know that I've read your various comments on the problems with certain awards that are being given out on wikipedia. I agree with your stance wholeheartedly, so many of those awards encourage the wrong kind of editing on wikipedia... the ones you listed were especially bad (encouraging any random editor to adopt several users at once... ech). I'd like to jump right in to the discussion, but ultimately I feel like it would be a waste of time. For the most part, the awards are harmless, although I do feel like they are encouraging younger editors to entirely miss the point of wikipedia. The fact of the matter is, it's something we just can't control, the same way there will always be a level of social network creeping onto wikipedia. Anyways... just kind of saying:keep on fighting the good fight, you definitely have many editors who agree with the stances you have given on the awards subject. Well of course I'd greatly appreciate any help you have time to give. There are many issues involved in this case, not just limited to reliability or correct interpretation of sources. Besides the difficulty of the issue, I simply would be honoured to work alongside such an experienced wikipedian and am sure I would learn a lot by the experience. Good luck on the Second Intifada though. The Second Intifada, well, it's a highly controversial conflict, in real life, obviously I have an opinion on the conflict, however as I'm a mediator of the case, that should probably stay personal, though my feelings on any cases never get involved. It's a lucky thing I have no ingrained feelings about Tibet during the Ming Dynasty. I must say, I am surprised at the kinds of articles for which mediation is required. Spore?! Goodness, here's a solution: everyone take a breather and play the Sims for a while. In any case, I reply in two places because I like to keep a record of who said what. It's not that I'm paranoid about covering my ass; it's just that it's easier to follow (important) discussions when both sides are on my talk page and I don't have to go back and forth, hunting down the other side of the conversation. I suppose it will clog things up, but then, that's why God invented archives. Ah, the unique pages, well, it shows the amount of edits to unique pages. For example, I have roughly 17,000 edits, roughly 9000 edits to unique pages. So, then you divide the amount of edits by the number of unique page edits. That will give you the amount of edits per page, roughly. My most edited pages are my talk page, followed by AIV, both over 600. Does that make it clearer? Also, those pages are fine, just, well, leave it as a side task :) Also, I saw this and this. The first one concerns me. While strictly not policy, it's generally the editor who starts the article, generally. See this for example. Was tagged for speedy deletion today, I saved it from a speedy. I can't take that to a DYK though, existing articles need to be expanded by x5 to qualify as DYK. Just a note.
