The article Glover's Medicated Salt Cake has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable product; the pictures are cool through.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Glenfarclas (talk) 08:28, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Glover's Medicated Salt Cake
[edit]I have nominated Glover's Medicated Salt Cake, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Glover's Medicated Salt Cake. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Proposed deletion
[edit]Don't worry about the article, it seems certain to survive the AfD process. I saw from your response that this was your first article, and I can understand how having it nominated for deletion can leave a bad taste in your mouth, but please be assured that articles that are written in good faith will be defended by a large number of people here. So you know I was the one who added the {{advert}} tag as this should have been the only thing done to the article if that was indeed the concern.
Once the AfD discussion is closed I will probably pop over and do a little work on it, but if you want to continue to improve the article, go ahead. While I can't promise the article won't be deleted, I can assure you that any result other than keep will be contested. Vulture19 (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
Glover's Medicated Salt Cake
[edit]- Hey Sundropman05, I saw the AFD for Glover's Medicated Salt Cake and would really like to see it get kept (which seems to be the likely outcome). Since you live in the area where this company came from, do you have any other sources for your information that can be added? You may know this already, but since you indicated you are new, an article has to be notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia article, and a very large part of proving that notability is providing reliable, third-party sources that are independent of the subject of the article itself. A lot of my articles have been challenged for AFD (including some of my first one, like your predicament), so when I make a page I make sure I have as many independent sources as possible before I even make one so it can be strong enough to withhold a challenge. If you can add a few more sources to this article, I'm confident that would only swing the AFD in further in your favor... — Hunter Kahn (c) 22:20, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- Also, did you take this picture yourself? Because someone has proposed it be deleted because it doesn't have a Wikipedia license. If you took it yourself, you should put in a summary describing yourself as the author and a public domain license (like at the other Glover's Medicated Salt Cake picture) before it gets deleted... — Hunter Kahn (c) 22:23, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- I have Fixed the License Thank you --Sundropman05 (talk) 01:39, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
I'm writing because I am considering re-nominating this article for deletion. I realize that the previous deletion discussion just got closed as "no consensus". However, I am concerned because the only source used in the article is an advertisement for the product, which cannot be considered an independent, reliable source. Do you have prospects for finding some independent reliable sources about this product? --Metropolitan90 (talk) 16:49, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- I just pared the article down to include only the facts, as sourced by your reference. It is two sentences long. If you, or someone else, cannot add more sourced information as to how notable this product is, I'm sending it back to AfD soon. --SquidSK (1MC•log) 18:24, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Planters02.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Planters02.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:46, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Saltsign.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Saltsign.jpg, which you've attributed to T.Glover.. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:12, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Caseneon.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Caseneon.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.

Please claim your upload(s): File:Plantersjar1.jpg
[edit]Hi, Thank you, for uploading this file.
However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Wikipedia is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm some details,
If it's your own work, please include {{own}}, amend the {{information}} added by a third party, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant. You can also add |claimed=yes
to the {{media by uploader}} tag if it is present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).
If it's not your own work please provide as much sourcing/authorship information as you are able to.
This will assist those reviewing the many many "free" images on commons that have not yet been transfered to Commons. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:59, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
