Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Sushar1 reported by User:Kailash29792 (Result: ). Thank you. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:40, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

November 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Nayanthara filmography. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. slakrtalk / 23:35, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring at Nayanthara filmography[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

The full report is at the edit warring noticeboard. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 22:26, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Awards[edit]

Hi there, re: this and this, there are thousands of awards in existence. Many entities are "award mills" that dole out meaningless awards for a few bucks. The Wikipedia community is not interested in faceless awards like these award mills, or web-based awards. We only care about well-established awards that are notable. We normally gauge notability by whether or not the award has a community-scrutinised article about it at Wikipedia. If it doesn't, we typically don't include that award in articles. If you plan to edit film articles, you should familiarise yourself with our Manual of Style for film articles, where this information about awards could have been found. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:26, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, one other thing, please stop marking all of your edits as minor. A minor edit is one that could never be the subject of a dispute, like a grammar fix, capitalisation fix, adding punctuation, things like that. Superficial little changes only. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:03, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • This edit is disruptive. Per WP:FILMCRITICLIST, community consensus prefers the exclusion of non-notable awards, and it defines what it considers to be a notable award. Your resubmission of the content runs contrary to established expectations. Thus, you can open a discussion on the article's talk page to argue for inclusion of each specific award, but resubmitting the content will be considered disruptive. Note also that discussion is not to be held in edit summaries, so if you try that again, you will again be blocked for edit-warring. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:01, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2019 election voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:14, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards 2020, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 06:35, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Subtle ethnic-warring[edit]

Please be careful with edits like this, where you arbitrarily move Tamil to the front of the list of other languages. This can be taken as a subtle form of ethnic-warring, i.e. moving one ethnicity's language in front of another for no good reason, other than that you personally identify as Tamil or you are trying to suggest the subject identifies as Tamil, or that you just don't like Telugu or Malayalam people as much. This does happen, and it is considered very disruptive. So if that was not your goal, you should avoid those kinds of changes.

According to Thomas's article's filmography, she has acted in eight Telugu films, seven Malayalam films and six Tamil films. Based on those numbers, it would seem hard to justify moving Tamil to the front. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:03, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sushar1. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards 2020".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 04:54, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

February 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ab207. I noticed that you recently removed content from Sudha Kongara without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.
