Thank you for the warm welcome, Tryptofish and for answering my question about photographs. I'll check the links you've posted to see what photos have been requested so far. Cheers! ﻯναოթ€ռ (talk) 16:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and introduction

[edit]

Hi, Svampen. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  17:33, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Image Selection

[edit]
Selected Picture of the Month
Your picture File:Carassius_auratus_Black_Moor.jpg has been selected by User:Tyw7 to be his picture of the month. To better expose prominent and good pictures, I chosen and displayed them on my talk page. Out of many pictures on Wikipedia, I have chosen you picture of the Black Moor fish to be my selected picture of the month. It will be displayed on User:Tyw7's userpage for the month of September. --Tyw7  (Talk • Contributions) 11:20, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

Why not make a subpage and display all the pictures you have upload like I did. Check out User:Tyw7/gallery and please comment on my pictures. --Tyw7  (Talk • Contributions) 13:05, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

Hey there, I saw that you would like an experienced user to adopt you. I would be happy to do that. I am on Wikipedia almost constantly, so I would always be able to help you out. Would you like me to adopt you? The Arbiter 23:26, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Activity in Wikiproject Aquarium fish has slowed to a crawl, it seems. We still have a few dedicated editors plus a few new faces. Any participation is appreciated, however we really can't tackle big projects with this level of activity. Give us a shout if you want to become active again!
  • We are now ready to restart the awards program, but no one has done it yet. If you are up for the challenge please come forward.
  • I made a mistake when distributing the last newsletter, sending it only to those who are on the non member newsletter list. Sorry.
  • An automatic newsletter bot would be appreciated.

Science lovers wanted!

Science lovers wanted!
Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! Sarah (talk) 18:59, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
