Thank you! Where, may I ask, did you notice me? SwampedEssayist (talk) 21:45, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At the Administrators Noticeboard in thre conversation about DiscoSpinner. I noticed you were new and thought I'd welcome you. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 03:07, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I just noticed you were an admin, I was surprised at being welcomed by an admin. Thanks for the warm welcome! SwampedEssayist (talk) 13:25, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding your comment that "This is minor? >~< I'd hate to see a big one." If you ever do want to see a big one, check out wp:FRAM and its various subpages. Also Meta-Wiki:Superprotect was a big one, but I think the Fram one is easier to follow. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 18:16, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

AN

[edit]

Hey, SE, you've made more edits at AN than you've made to any other page except your own userspace, and the edits to that page are like 15% of your total edits over the entire project. Please just read there for a while. Valereee (talk) 14:29, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sorry. SwampedEssayist (talk) 15:11, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, we like seeing new users enthusiastic to contribute. You can just end up getting yourself in trouble at noticeboards, it's best to ignore them or simply read there until you have a very good feel for what's going on. Valereee (talk) 15:35, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ok thx for the heads up. btw, do you think you could check out Talk:Michael Faraday and help me there (bottom topic rn)? I don't think it would be difficult or lengthy for an experienced editor, but I don't know how to fix it myself. SwampedEssayist (talk) 15:45, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, that actually looks like a pretty complicated case. Because anyone can copy directly from Wikipedia, the older it gets the more likely someone out there was copying from us rather than the other way around. What you can do is add a request at Wikipedia:Copyright problems for someone who is an expert. Valereee (talk) 15:59, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you. It seems strange that we cited them after the copy though... SwampedEssayist (talk) 16:00, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
