Archbishop Booth

@TJH2018: to be technical the reference I added is not specific to the COA - it does not mention it anywhere. However, I am faced with an utterly juvenile argument (which I have properly referenced) about the archbishop's COA. The reference does not have anything to do with it since it stands on its own & provides a reference to Archbishop Booth. I can see Wiki is not very welcoming to new (or at least correct) info. Please help. L'honorable (talk) 22:03, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi L'honorable, there has to be a specific reference to the COA, or else how do we know if it is really his COA? When it comes to verifiability, enwiki doesn't tend to let it slide, if you know what I mean. All I can really do for you is to point you to WP:CITE, WP:VERIFY, and WP:REF. Sorry if it's not much help. Cheers! TJH2018talk 22:23, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Hi hi - I am a bit fed up with this since I was ambushed by two folk who'll I readily admit know much about history (& one of them especially about ecclesiastical history) & I bow to their superior knowledge on such subjects. However, when it comes to heraldry they seem to have taken the bit between the teeth and basically downright stated that I don't know what I am talking about (yet apart from continuing to make such an accusation they don't cite anything which contradicts what I have stated). It's a bit difficult to reason with people who either have clearly made up their minds to oppose whatever you say or don't themselves know the subject. Let me elucidate in full (somewhere - because on the archbishop's Talk page another statement was made which doesn't make sense in heraldic terms). Many thanks L'honorable (talk) 22:28, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
@TJH2018: I tried explaining all this on the relevant Talk Page but got bumped out when I tried to save my lengthy explanation. Anyway forget this for the time being - it really isn't that important - but is frustrating when constantly ambushed by people left right & centre who won't even let one leave a full explanatory note. Nowhere do they state anything other than they object - whereas I have provided links references etc. This is somewhat silly to say the least - hopefully someone in Heraldry Project can advise better (since I seem to be persona non grata). The evidence can be found at: Burke's Extinct and Dormant Baronetcies & www.exploreyork.org.uk. Anyway ciao! Thanks so far. L'honorable (talk) 23:00, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
@L'honorable: I feel your pain, let me see what I can do...TJH2018talk 23:01, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Many thanks indeed L'honorable (talk) 23:02, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Sad. L'honorable (talk) 23:30, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
@L'honorable: Here's my suggestion: take it to WP:ANI. An administrator will be able to help you out there. TJH2018talk 23:32, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
but I have never done that before & why start now - best just to leave it & return when others see sense surely? Thanks your support though. L'honorable (talk) 23:33, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Be WP:BOLD, and the worst thing that can happen to you is for the administrators to side with them. I think you have a good chance here...TJH2018talk 23:34, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
I've just given them one last chance before following your suggestion (if need be). Thanks L'honorable (talk) 23:46, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Now one of them has accused me of edit-warring - this really is pathetic - is it timely to to launch the WP:ANI? I've never known anything like this. Or is it best to leave it & let them have their day? L'honorable (talk) 23:53, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Really, it's up to you at this point. I've done everything I can without getting involved myself. TJH2018talk 23:53, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
OK thanks - not happy about this but they still persist so I've applied to Admin. Best L'honorable (talk) 00:12, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
That didn't work out too well unless you see it differently? L'honorable (talk) 02:32, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
No it didn't, and I'm perplexed as to why you were given the advice to take it to the dramah boards. I think TJH2018 set you up to fail, if I'm honest. CassiantoTalk 03:31, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

username question..

I'm curious as to the problem with Leon Raper's username? This is the individual's real name. He is an eighty year old man living in Arizona...(I'm wondering if it has something to do with his last name?)68.48.241.158 (talk) 01:23, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Username warning

Hi. I noticed your username warning at User talk:LeonRaper. It is clearly the editor's real life name, so could you please explain why you thought that was a problem? Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:03, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Assuming it was a mistake, I have taken the liberty of striking your warning - I hope that is OK with you. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:04, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

WP:BLANKING is perfectly clear to anyone who can read: "Policy does not prohibit users, whether registered or unregistered, from removing comments from their own talk pages". Since Southern New England Telecommunications went defunct in 2006, your compulsive insistence on plastering my talk page with a template for it smacks of either OCD or lunacy. Which one is it? 32.218.47.41 (talk) 17:34, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

@32.218.47.41: Alright buddy, first off, if you even looked at the edit summaries, you would have found a link for the WHOIS. Second, just because I have ADHD, doesn't give you any right to harass me like this. WP:BLANKING doesn't apply in this situation, as it is a maintenance template, and not a user comment. So don't give me any smart-ass comments. Kapish? TJH2018talk 17:37, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

Edition war

You should have been left some remark on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:2604:6000:6EC4:F500:983D:2764:AA37:3530. I just wonder why it is is hard to get some reliable sources for these claims. --Cupido1234 (talk) 23:36, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

I don't like edition wars, either. I would like to have a factual, matter-of-fact discussion on the discussion page but it simply seems that the opponent doesn't want it. So what could be done? How you can give reasons for what version is better? I have give my reasons earlier. --Cupido1234 (talk) 23:52, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Hello there!

My name is Rob, but my username on here is cityscaper. I see that you have asked me not to edit Pasadena, Californias climate data. I have done so because not only becuse I am totally set on studying meterology at San Jose Statem, but also because the data has not been edited in several years and new monthly record highs have been broken. I also do not like that you threatened to report me. Judging but your username and the fact that is says your at school, you seem like your that class of 2018 or a sophomore in high school like I am. In the future, please be professional about people who edit things. You threatened to block me which you are in no position to do so. Thanks! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cityscaper (talkcontribs) 23:55, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

@Cityscaper: First off, I haven't threatened you at all. You should know Wikipedia's policy on verifiability by this point. You can edit whatever you want, as long as you have a verifiable source. --TJH2018talk 15:12, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Yes, you did threaten me. You said you were going to report me without warning. The stuff I put in was citing buy another person long ago. It was record high temperature in Pasadena, CA data that had been broken since it was last updated. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.Bold text — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cityscaper (talkcontribs) 01:23, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

@Cityscaper: Have you ever heard of a Wikipedia:Template? At this point, you should know the policy's on WP:VERIFY and WP:CITE. That's all I have to say to you. TJH2018talk 14:57, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Edit Hapoel Be'er Sheva

Hi, TJH2018.

Last edit made by, and editors help me with this. No problem with that, there is no need to detail the specific games, I did it myself in the past and deleted.

If you have useful edits I'm happy for it. And I am aware that any editor. AssafZalmanov 22:17, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

@AsafZalmanov: I have no idea what you're saying. Use American English, not Indian English on my TP. TJH2018talk 19:21, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi, TJH2018.

Which language do you speak? I do not know how to communicate with you! AssafZalmanov 22:43, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

@AsafZalmanov: English. For goodness sakes, English. TJH2018talk 19:45, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

I started to edit the value of Hapoel Beer Sheva long as he was run-down and outdated, over time erased and changed things, however helped me more editors. And true that anyone can edit, but some things are negligible and there is no reason to keep them you will not see details of the games in Europe in big clubs in Europe.

I ask you to understand the situation and make it difficult for me, my intentions are good AssafZalmanov 22:50, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

username warnings

Hey, TJH, I'd guess you have CanaryBot's talk page on your watchlist, but I wanted to drop a friendly reminder here, too, just in case. We generally don't need to give warnings or notifications like that to accounts that haven't actually edited enwiki: quoth the username policy: except in extreme cases, it is probably not worth taking action unless the user has made at least one recent edit. Username globalization being what it is, we are bound to get cases like this, where a user creates a bot account for another wiki, which also creates it here. Unless they start actually editing specifically on enwiki, and CanaryBot hadn't, we don't really need to do anything about it. Otherwise, we just get people worked up over nothing. Better to just decline the bot's UAA report and let it ride. No big deal, of course, just future reference. :D Writ Keeper  16:15, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

@Writ Keeper: Yeah, that was my bad. I'll take that into consideration, with the whole SUL thingie. Thanks for the input! TJH2018talk 16:17, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Faanya Rose - Keep

Hello TJH2018,

The article Faanya Rose, the first woman president of the Explorers Club, is worthy of keeping. On the AfD page I gave my primary reasons. Since I am a new author (love Wikiepdia, but newly contributing), I thought I would reach out to you personally because you recommended the article for deletion. I would not want to over estimate the role of Ms. Rose, but I think to delete this article undervalues significantly her importance. As I say in my AfD comment, I know women "get" her as written, and value the information presented in the text as well as the carefully considered footnotes. The research and sourcing of this work was no trivial matter for me - months actually - many of the Rhodesian resources have limited or no access - many of the explorers club materials are disorganized or difficult to locate. Once this article is known to be posted (only the people who helped me with sources and pictures are aware) it will be accessed quite a lot. Can you tell me are there usage/access stats?
