RE: Edits to 2022 California gubernatorial election

[edit]

Hello, TheTruthGen222! I was uncertain if some of the wording and formatting was considered neutral, per Wikipedia guidelines, as the formatting and description differed from other declared and potential candidates (which seem to only include former occupations). That being said, I respect your argument and do not feel it is my position to make an ultimate decision on this. As such, I will leave the article as-is. Thanks for your message explaining your perspective! -Twalee03 (talk) 14:53, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I started to respond to you but was blocked. You were more helpful than anyone else in explaining to me what you did. All I received from others were hostilities and then blocked. I have contacted the Board to see if I can actually receive better assistance than what I received from some "admins". It's my understanding we are to welcome new people and that just didn't happen for me, except for your response, thank you for that, truly. You are very welcome! You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at 2022 California gubernatorial election. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cabayi (talk) 14:58, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sad that my cautions in our OTRS conversation (ticket# 2021031810008084) were ignored and that you continued to edit-war with those editors attempting to uphold Wikipedia's norms. Cabayi (talk) 15:04, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am having a very serious problem with numerous people on here who want to edit what I have put in there. I cannot, for the life of me understanding WHY we would want "secondary sources" as a main source, when it's always better to get our sources straight from the primary sources: my website, for example. I am not "shouting", I'm in a hurry and do not know all the coding everyone else knows - I'm running a campaign and am not a computer programmer. People in my community call me "The People's Governor" so I put it on there and on my Website, because I champion the People. I do not know all the guidelines, too many to read through when I need to read other bureaucratic paperwork that is 1000's of pages long. I just don't understand why the Wiki community keeps deleting my information from the site. Thank you for leaving the information there. You're welcome for my explanation. I really am not trying to argue, I just can't fathom what's going on here with my information completely missing since the "redirect" of the page almost 2 years ago. I filed my paperwork July 1, 2019 and have been a candidate since then. I will be until the election is over. How do I get all the other users to also leave it alone? It seems many want to keep changing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheTruthGen222 (talkcontribs) 15:13, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Carlos went off the deep end when I contacted for assistance. I ask for assistance and I get blocked. Is that really how this community acts? I will contact the board if I cannot get an administrator other than Carlos to assist me. Asking questions is NEVER a reason to block a new user. How unhelpful and unproductive this Carlos person has been. Other users were MORE HELPFUL. Carlos has discriminated against me and has shown how unprofessional he is. Thanks for the great reputation you have painted on Wikipedia and it's community!

Decline reason:

You are blocked for violating WP:EW but haven't addressed this in your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 15:34, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, TheTruthGen222. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page 2022 California gubernatorial election, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 15:06, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am requesting an administrator with a professional disposition e-mail me. I am not a coder or programmer and this is all very confusing to me, to ask for assistance to have some understanding and then have some emotionally unstable person block me is eradically unintelligent.

Decline reason:

We don't get to write about ourselves on Wikipedia. We most certainly don't get to promote our political campaigns on Wikipedia. We also don't get to insult people on Wikipedia. You would be blocked for any of those. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 16:10, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

JP you only see one side. You have not seen the attack on me when I asked for assistance, I was insulted, not the other way around. But as I stated below, I contacted a Board Member so they could see what Admins do to new users. TheTruthGen222 (talk) 16:19, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Wikipedia has no "board" to contact, or at least one that is involved in day to day operations. We want to help you, but you need to want to work with us in return, and you can start by addressing your edit warring and how it was inappropriate regardless of the merits of what it is that you were trying to do, as well as your other inappropriate behaviors. You don't need to be a top level computer programmer to tell us that. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 01:16, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have contacted the higher ups. I believe attacking a new user who is asking for assistance is the opposite of "welcoming" people to the community. I do not know how all this works, so now I will wait for a response from the Board of Trustees. Thank you for being so warm, friendly, and helpful to a new user by blocking them when they are trying to figure out how to get assistance. That was certainly very kind. TheTruthGen222 (talk) 16:10, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, your block will expire in about 13 hours; you'll be able to continue editing then like any other editor, subject to the same policies. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 01:39, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
