Welcome!

Hello, Transatlanick, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Jacqueline Moody, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Ben Ben (talk) 19:54, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jacqueline Moody has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Ben Ben (talk) 19:54, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article R U There? has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unsourced and no indication of WP:notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 19:59, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this notice as per the instruction above after adding a reliable source. Transatlanick (talk) 02:44, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Please see the section about removing AfD notices further down this page. As the notice on the article says: this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed. An uninvolved admin will close it, normally after a week has elapsed. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 03:10, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, will do, and I now understand. I misunderstood the above line that reads "You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page." Thanks again for all your help, PhantomSteve !!!! Transatlanick (talk) 15:23, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

FYI: Please do not remove Articles for deletion (AfD) tags

[edit]

The AfD tag remains in place on the article until the discussion is closed by an uninvolved admin - usually after a week has elapsed.

So that you know, a criteria for showing the notability of a subject is multiple occurances of significant coverage at reliable independent sources.

The DoE would not count as an independent source (although they would meet the reliability criteria) in this case, as they are a part-funder of R U There?.

Is Transatlanickism also you? If so, you need to decide which user name you are going to use, as multiple accounts is not allowed except under specific circumstances (see here for a list of them).

For example, I use the account Phantomsteve.alt when I am editing on my mobile phone, or on a public computer. I use my main account (which has admin rights) when I am either on my own computer, or on a trusted computer elsewhere.

I notice that both this account and Transatlanickism edit similar articles, but the latter stopped editing a bit before this account started:

  • Transatlanickism: Created 15:45, 7 December 2011; edited between 15:47, 7 December 2011 and 19:22, 9 December 2011
  • Transatlanick: Created 19:44, 9 December 2011; edited since 20:07, 9 December 2011

If they are both your accounts, please stop using one of them! If you let me know which one you are not going to use, I can block it from editing for security reasons.

Thanks, I created Transatlanickism without a backup email address and immediately forgot the password! Please feel free to block that one, as I will be using Transatlanick going forward. Thank you so much! Transatlanick (talk) 15:20, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Oasis (spa) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Malcolma (talk) 10:18, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article TimeLine Video has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article was about a real person or group of people, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or an organized event, but did not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is actually significant enough for an encyclopedia article, you are free to re-create it, but this time you need to demonstrate that, which is best done by citing to reliable, secondary sources that are entirely unconnected to the topic.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:50, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
