Regarding your recent addition to Facebook, please review Wikipedia:Minor_edit before marking an edit as minor. Adding new content is never a minor edit. Thanks, DaRkAgE7 (talk) 22:48, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My bad. Thanks for letting me know. -- Uiteoi (talk) 22:53, 21 February 2008 (UTC).[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Open Web Foundation, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://siliconflorist.com/2008/07/24/open-web-foundation-oscon-2008. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hey, I agree completely with you re: Talk:Open Web Foundation. There has been lately an unrealistic barrier of entry for new contributers, and most of the admins take the 'shoot first, ask questions later' mentality, which only frustrates people further. I don't really have any solution for this, just making an observation.riffic (talk) 20:13, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support. My concern is that Wikipedia will suffer if the majority of occasional contributors like me is disregarded. The solution is for Wikipedia administrators to act less like cops and more like employees of a corporation where the customers are both readers and contributors. Leaving[edit]

Dude, I don't want you to leave, but I can't understand what you want us to do. As Frank said on the talk page, the article was not deleted and is in no danger of being deleted. I am not an administrator, and I do not want to see you leave. What specifically can we do to rectify this for you? J.delanoygabsadds 01:08, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What I would like is:
  • An acknowledgment that the guidelines for speedy deletion nomination have indeed been violated
  • Less bureaucracy in general to get more freedom back to contributors as their was just a few years ago.
Uiteoi (talk) 01:44, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, just as soon as you acknowledge that you added copyright violation material from a site - thus exposing Wikipedia to possible legal action - and did not specify why the content was suitable for inclusion (WP:N), as per the guidelines/rules provided in the editing pages. When you are capable of following simple instructions then you might participate in the discussions that shape WP policy. LessHeard vanU (talk) 13:04, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have acknowledged that there may have been a copyright violation and fixed it. But I am not certain that there was in effect a copyright violation. None of us are layers to decide what is and what is not a copyright violation. In this case it may have been an improper citation of a public charter although the source was clearly cited in the references during the first edit. Not everything is copyrighted, contracts may not be copyrighted and a public charter is a kind of contract between the organization, its members, and the general public. --Uiteoi (talk) 18:02, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia can be fun[edit]

I just ran across this and thought you'd appreciate the humor in it. Yes, there's probably some irony, but look at it from the humorous side.  Frank  |  talk  02:57, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is funny indeed. --Uiteoi (talk) 08:12, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 17:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
