Thanks for your message! You're moving in the right direction, keeping the article short and sweet, while trying to find independent sources for verification. I would be surprised if a distillery of that age was not notable in some way! However, to prove that Strathmill is important enough for Wikipedia, you do need to show some evidence it has been written about in reliable, published sources (such as books, newspapers or magazines).
