Filhaal

Hello Umakant Bhalerao I hope you're doing great. I created Filhaal2 Mohabbat, so I would like to know if it's eligible for page triage, or should I tagged it for deletion. Thanks, stay safe.--C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 14:04, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Looking at the sources, the songs appears notable. I would wait until a reviewer comes along to approve it. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 05:49, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Okay sure. Thanks for looking into it. --C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 06:06, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Please verify before you delete sagal jet page i have created

Dear Bhaleroa I have no affiliation with sagal jet company, but what really urged me to create a stub for sagal jet is when i saw different companies in which have a wikipedi article or stub, such as [Sompower],[Horn Cable Tv], [Telesom] they all have wikipedia stubs with little number of references. In sagal jet stub i have created Please remove the parts you deem it's promotional, but please don't speedily delete the page i have created for sagal jet, and check the references one by one. Please compare sagal jet page i have created with for instance [Sompower] stub which have a smaller number of citations or references like three reference. So please edit and remove parts you deem it promotional in sagal jet page i have created and i won't speedy deletion tag untill you verify the information and tge references by comparing with other somaliland based companies i mentioned here. So i look forward to your reply and i hope that you wil°l edit the page i created for sagal jet and you will remove the speedy deletion tag .

I never said you have a COI. I have not deleted your article. I've just tagged it because it reads more like an advertisement than an encyclopedic article. Wikipedia is not a platform for promotion. The sole purpose of the site is to create promotional free articles. I would highly suggest you have a look at WP:NCORP and WP:PROMOTION.Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 12:34, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

List of Delta DM-19 launches

You recently declined List of Delta DM-19 launches as being copied from a site you linked to. That site is a Wikipedia mirror. You also deleted it. Can you please undelete it and accept it @Umakant Bhalerao:

Thanks for reaching out to me. I've not deleted your article and have just tagged it. The website you copied content from doesn't strike as a Wiki mirror. New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021

New Page Review queue September 2021

Hello Umakant Bhalerao,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

The reason i have moved your article to draft is because it does not have enough sources needed to remain in main space. Please add more sources and submit a draft for review.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 17:59, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi there! Definitely the same article creator. References 8 to 11 were all used in Umesh Kaushik. The article is a load of nonsense as there's no evidence that Vivek Sharma and Umesh Kaushik are the same person. Looks like a hoax to me. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 18:11, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

@Spiderone: Thanks for letting me know! I didn't notice the source assessment table prepared by you in that very AfD or i would have figured it out myself looking at the links:). I concur with you, this draft is clearly a hoax as it contains information of two different individuals created by a long-term-sock-evading editor whose sole purpose is to promote Umesh Kaushik and his work, 2 stories : The Book By Umesh Kaushik.--Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 08:54, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Regarding Multiple Accounts

Hello Umakant Bhalerao, I do not have multiple accounts but I do have a connection with user Milan260. We are journalism students here in Nepal and for our project, we chose to write a Wikipedia article about some of our famous people in the entertainment field. they are well known in Nepal however they lack internet exposure. Along with user Milan260, I want to contribute to Wikipedia with at least 10 articles, which will help us in our project as well. Please guide us. Thank you!

Thanks for the clarification.--Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 09:28, 22 September 2021 (UTC)

Re. speedy deletion notice for Jupiter Intelligence

Hi, thank you for your note. The article is in process and will be rigorously footnoted with third-party sources. Am willing to work with you and ensure that promotional content is deleted.AquaAdv (talk) 13:53, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for writing here. The article seems excessively promotional and cites several unreliable sources. Wikipedia is not a platform for promotion. The sole purpose of the site is to produce promotional-free articles without being involved in WP:COI editing. You probably need to start from scratch and please ensure to follow our WP:NPOV. Best of luck. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 14:12, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your patience. I am going through the article as written to seek out and remove promotional/unsubstantiated content. I am in total agreement that articles such as this must satisfy stringent requirements and wish to be utterly transparent and cooperative in my dealings with Wikipedia. I'm hopeful that you will not consider The New York Times, Washington Post, Axios, etc., to be unreliable sources. AquaAdv (talk) 14:31, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Notice

The article Billabong High International School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources establishing notability of the school. GNG is not met.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Regarding approval of This Web series Baap beep Baap

Umakant Ji, Kindly Please check again. Its a Marathi Comedy Web series staring Shilpa Tulaskar and Sharad Ponkshe, currently streaming on Planet Marathi OTT. Planet Marathi is a Big OTT platform and lots of big films and series are currently going on it. Kindly have a look once again and consider it, have submitted all the links avaialble. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Baap_Beep_Baap 103.93.192.226 (talk) 12:14, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for leaving a message here. Just because a show is being aired on a popular Marathi OTT doesn't mean it should have an article on it, particularly when there are not sufficient sources on which an article can be based. What I would suggest is; add more sources that are independent and reliable and remove all unnecessary and unreliable sources. What we also look for to determine notability of a Film/Web/Television series is if it "has received full-length reviews by two or more nationally known critics." It would be great if you incorporate reviews as well. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 09:15, 27 November 2021 (UTC)

Draft of Ashok "Ashq" has been updated

Dear sir, I have updated the draft related to Ashok "Ashq". He has worked in many Hindi TV Serials as an assistant writer and has made short movies that were appreciated on many big platforms like Indogma Film Festival. He has won many awards for his poetry writings and now he is busy with the second season of "International Sincine Film Festival". He is also making a web series "Chhuwan". I have added some more links as proof of work and media coverage.

I'll be more than happy if you could suggest to me if any changes are required. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Wikipedia page link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ashok_Ashq — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ranchi321 (talkcontribs) 05:13, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Unfortunately the sources you added today do not qualify as independent as needed by WP:N. One of them is a link to his IMDb profile and the other one is an interview with him. They both fail to meet the requirements of WP:GNG. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 10:15, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Make some changes and added source Mukesh.kfc (talk) 05:45, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

While I appreciate that you added some more sources in an attempt to address the notability concern, passing mentions do not count towards notability. Please have a look at WP:GNG which says "A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 09:28, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

have included citations to various sources to make article more reliable, please let me know what you think

Thanks for leaving a message here. It still doesn't have enough third party sources to be accepted. YouTube is not a third party source and nor is Nett4U. Please have a look at WP:RS for help on what qualifies as a reliable and third party source.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 11:05, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
Have added more citations from news sources (The Hindu, Rediff, Firstpost), does this qualify, do let me know.thanks. Shkwikiwiki (talk) 05:13, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Please do have a look at updated draft and revert if anything could be added to make it more suitable as an article
Draft:Velan (Sun TV Serial) Shkwikiwiki (talk) 09:26, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, the sources you recently added to the article do not display significant coverage. They are just passing mentions and do not establish and support notability.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 11:39, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Thanks for leaving a message here, @Cinzia007:! If you watch closely, I've tagged one of your articles for additional sources. Instead of deleting the information that I was unable to validate I chose to leave a tag for a little while in order to allow you time for the addition of references. If you do not provide sources for the films that you have added in the table (Indian cinema competition & Kannada competition), I am going to need to remove them all.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 15:31, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
PS: Both the articles are stubs, so they do not need much time to review. I am going to take down the {{CN}} label as this now has enough sources and you seem to have removed unverifiable bit on your own. Hey @Venkat TL:! Thanks for leaving a message here. His last name was incorrect, so I just moved it to Gurlal Ghanaur without leaving behind a redirect. Hi, I did not get a ping. Yes, sorry about that, I dont know how I made that mistake. Perhaps the Indian experess or some other source that I had used as reference had used that spelling. Thanks for correcting my mistake. My question is why delete that spelling. I guess it is an acceptable phonetic alternate spelling that should have existed as a redirect. New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022

New Page Review queue March 2022

Hello Umakant Bhalerao,

At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.

Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.

In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 814 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 839 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.

This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

It's such an honor to devote my time to helping reduce the backlog.--Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 10:09, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Rakhshinda_Parveen

I agree with your decision to nominate this article for speedy deletion. It looks like the creator of the article defiantly moved it back into mainspace, so I see no problem with it being forcibly deleted. ~XyNqtc 07:00, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

No, they didn't move it back to mainspace. They just removed the redirect that you'd requested to be deleted as WP:R2 and posted the content again. Looks like the draft also got deleted as WP:G11 (see here).--Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 07:27, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
Same difference, I guess. It's still defiantly ignoring the fact the article isn't suitable for mainspace. ~XyNqtc 09:29, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I am Itcouldbepossible. I saw that you draftified this article. Please be aware the user is repeatedly creating this promotional article in the mainspace and it got deleted multiple number of times. You can also see the author's talk page to see how many CSD messages are there. But you draftified this article. It shouldn't have been done so. Draftification is done in order to save something from being deleted when it is worth saving. Draftification is done to give time to the author to work on the article as the article could be notable when the work would be finished. But this article has already been deleted multiple number of times and there was no need to draftify it. Neither is 'worth saving' nor should time be given to the author to develop it. The author is making the article at one go, and the article also is complete, but it is promotional. So, without drafifying it, you should have CSDed it. Please don't be hasty while draftifing articles. Draftify only when necessary. Otherwise CSD it. Because users such as these, will again move the article back to mainspace and this moving back and forth would create a mess. You can also see if the article was deleted earlier or not, or if there was any AFD using this script. Hope I could explain you the matter. Best regards, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 11:44, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Itcouldbepossible I know the article has been created and deleted several times due to being promotional. I was about to mark it for speedy deletion and request the title to be salted. But the creator seems to be new and doesn't know much about our policies and guidelines. I thought of giving them another chance to learn and improve their work. But yes I agree I should have CSD'ed it. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 12:08, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
The user had had the draft and the page enough number of times, and there was no need for 'another chance'. They very well knew what they were doing. From their talk page, we know that the user received many warnings, and I even sent the user the message to disclose any COI that the user might have. But in vain. Whatever, the user is blocked now. Just a small suggestion to you. From the next time, if you see an article has been deleted many times before, at first check the deletion log. Then if you see they were promotional, then don't go for draftification. CSD it as once. Draftifying and re-draftifying creates a lot of redirects and makes things more complicated, unless you know to do the post-move cleanups. Thanks, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 08:31, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Review if you get time

Hello Umakant , I hope you are well. I am reaching out to you because I had created an article (Radhakrishnan Pillai),and I didn't knew that the page is already deleted several times for wp:g11 and for that this time the page got deleted with same reason. Though I didn't put any promotional word. So I again I made draft(Draft:Radhakrishnan Pillai) with reliable sources(The Hindu, The Indian Express, TheNew Indian Express). So please check the draft and review if possible and if there is any issue with the draft then suggest me what changes should I do there. I hope to hear from you soon. Please tell me which source was unreliable or did it need more than two sources?

Kerrylei14 (talk) 18:25, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

None of them were reliable. CrunchBase is a listing of companies and professionals. It is not considered as a reliable source as anyone can create an account and publish unverified information. Please add secondary, reliable sources.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 08:57, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Could you check it again now? Now I only used links listed in CrunchBase. Kerrylei14 (talk) 20:35, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, the topic is notable and we can not include it in our encyclopedia. None of the sources you've added thus far are reliable ones. Please have a look at Wikipedia:NCORP. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 06:29, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
The sources I used are all from the websites which were listed as credible in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Sources
Why are they considered not reliable? Kerrylei14 (talk) 16:32, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
Three of them are explicitly marked as press releases in their URLs. Press releases are not acceptable sources no matter where they are published (connexion to subject). The Yahoo source also explicitly identifies itself as a press release in its footer. The last one is essentially a ticker (too sparse). Please read the entirety of WP:Reliable sources and not just the parts that are easiest to comply with.
I feel obligated to point out that part of the reason the blockchain and related tech sanctions exist (the sanctions that you have been alerted to, by the by) is because of the constant attempts to push press releases or other patently involved sources in the space. This is a key part of the reason I refuse to work on or assess sources for articles that fall under the regime, and refusal to take this on board (such as you were likely hoping for here) is in itself grounds to be dragged to WP:ANI for enforcement. Listen to what you are being told and stop looking for loopholes. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v a little blue Bori 22:45, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022

New Page Review queue June 2022

Hello Umakant Bhalerao,

Backlog status

At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

Backlog drive

A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. Barnstars will be awarded.

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

Misc

There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:

Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 11399 articles, as of 12:00, 3 November 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Notes
  1. ^ not including another ~6,000 redirects
  2. ^ The number of weekly reviews reported in the NPP feed includes redirects, which are not included in the backlog we primarily track.

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022

New Page Review queue August 2022

Hello Umakant Bhalerao,

Backlog status

After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.

Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

Coordination
MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
Open letter to the WMF
The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
TIP - Reviewing by subject
Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
New reviewers
The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
Tagging

Please wait for an article to have existed more than one minute before tagging it as an orphan - give editors a chance to make appropriate incoming links. Thanks. PamD 12:43, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, this is not what i intended to do. I was running AWB over newly created pages to check for errors which found your article to be orphaned and tagged it for the same.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 13:36, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
In general it's good practice to leave new articles a while - say at least half an hour perhaps - before tagging them for anything routine like this. Just add a cutoff timer to your search, or something like that. You'll only waste people's time and irritate them. Please remember that all your edits are your own responsibility, even if you use AWB to help you: you need to check that it is proposing reasonable edits for you to make. Thanks. New pages patrol newsletter

Hello Umakant Bhalerao,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

Instead, you may make suggestions on the article's talkpage using the {{request edit}} template. You can also use the WP:Edit Request Wizard. World On Demand Page

At a slight loss; the platform is 15 years old and MUCH of the references that could be used have been removed from the internet (which is tragic). its a noteworthy story that should not get lost in history. Anyone researching the history of the tech and on demand video should find this. How to proceed? There are good sources still online such as Variety and Japan Today where Archives are older. I will read the advice / link you provided, but seek specific advice to make this page worthy. Thanks in advance for your consideration. TheRandallMack (talk) 03:30, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

If reliable sources are not available or have been removed from the internet, it is not advisable to create the article. The sources you have provided in your submission mainly consist of their own website links or press releases, which don't establish notability.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 06:02, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Regarding Draft Hargovind Misra

Hello Umakant Bhalerao,

I have three questions. (1) The draft I submitted for Sir Hargovind Misra is appearing in the Wikitia.com site. Is this Wikitia page unusual or does this normally happen to drafts that are submitted in Wikipedia? (2) I am in the process of making changes to my draft in Wikipedia. Can you please recommend an example page of some other person that I may use as a guide. (3) Will I be able to use my real name when the final draft is approved?

Thank you so much. Lekhikar (talk) 04:34, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi Umakant Bhalerao,

I have no idea why you tagged the above page as "Orphan" when it was linked to at least 3 pages at the time of your tag. I have reverted your edit. In the future, do not tag new pages as "orphan" if they are linked to at least one existing article. Shoerack (talk) 11:35, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for your message and your contributions to Wikipedia! Before you linked the article to other pages, I was already reviewing it. The reviewing tool identified it as an orphaned article because It wasn't linked to other articles at that time. I apologize for the swift tagging. And yes, It now has links from three other articles. Appreciate your understanding.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 12:56, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
You are welcomed. Regards. Shoerack (talk) 13:15, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Recovering a declined Draft

Hello , May I know why the draft “ Mustafa Hawash “ was declined by you ? And if there is any edits needed before re-submitting for a review kindly tell me thanks , akram AkramHosny22 (talk) 06:06, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Regarding declined draft Rooms + Spaces

Hello, I noticed that you declined a draft I submitted due to a lack of reliable sources. Is the problem the sources themselves or that more are needed? It seems adequately sourced to me and I'm pretty sure the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is considered a reliable source. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 19:12, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, the problem is with the sourcing. The first source (Yahoo article) is essentially a press release. If you scroll right to the bottom there's a link to the Newswire website, and it says 'News provided by Rooms + Spaces.' The other sources are just announcements about retail store openings. Please see WP:ORGIND.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 06:46, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

D-ID (company)

Hi. Could you tell me what exactly I should improve so that the article about D-ID doesn't look like an advertisement? Because it isn't. Thanks. gala Galamore (talk) 11:18, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. The entire article seems promotional, particularly the products section. Wikipedia is not a platform for promoting companies or their products; its purpose is to provide neutral, factual, and non-promotional information sourced from independent and reliable sources. Please see WP:SOAPBOX for more information. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 11:45, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
I wrote the article about Perplexity.ai and they didn't write it for me there. And precisely here when I wrote more details, they said it was "advertising". So is it better to delete the detail in this article? Galamore (talk) 12:16, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Your NPP review of Lochana Munda

Hey, Umakant Bhalerao! As part of the January 2024 NPP Backlog drive re-review process, I wanted to let you know that I have nominated an article you patrolled, Lochana Munda, for deletion. The reason for this is that I was unable to find enough coverage from third-party sources to meet WP:GNG or WP:SPORTBASIC. No action is needed on your part, but feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Good luck on the rest of the drive! JTtheOG (talk) 20:09, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
