August 2012[edit]

Hello, We-Are-Woman. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article We Are Woman, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. AllyD (talk) 16:54, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on We Are Woman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Dwaipayan (talk) 17:29, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is this the name of a group or organization? Are you connected with it in anyway? Did you mean the article to actually be your user page?

There are a number of problems. Please see Wikipedia:Username_policy. Names of companies and groups, names that represent a group rather than an individual are not permitted. You might want to choose a name ore reflective of you as an individual.

Please see Wikipedia:COI. It is not usually a good idea to write about oneself or a subject with which one is connected.

Generally, empty placeholder articles are subject to deletion. User:Mephistophelian has placed an under construction sign on the article. It might be better to work on the said article in your sandbox or in a user subpage that can be moved to article space when ready.

Hope this helps, Dlohcierekim 18:07, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I noted the {{underconstruction}} template. But after four hours the article cannot stay. Place-holder articles do not long survive here. If you wish to create an article which cannot be entered in one go, I suggest that you create it either in your {{sandbox}} or in a a subpage. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:02, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In wikipedia we do not alow place-holder articles for any length of time. See my comment above relating to your other edit.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:01, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "We-Are-Woman", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, institution, company or website. Please note that Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or appear to be shared by multiple people. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Dlohcierekim 21:05, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you.
