Victor Estrella Burgos (born August 2, 1980) is a Dominican professional tennis player . He reached his career-high singles ranking on the ATP Tour of World No. 65 on October 6, 2014 following his first Grand Slam third round appearance at the 2014 US Open . In 2014, Estrella became the first Dominican to reach the top 100 in the ATP rankings, he also became the first Dominican player to reached the semifinals in an ATP 250 tournament in Bogota (l. 7-6 6-7 7-6 to Bernard Tomic). Now, in 2015 he also became the first tennis player from his country who has participated in all four Grand Slam playing in the Australian Open.[1] In February 2015 he won his first career ATP title at the 2015 Ecuador Open Quito , becoming the oldest first-time ATP tour winner in the Open Era .[2]
Estrella has been a member of the Davis Cup team in the Dominican Republic since 1998, posting a record of 33-13 in singles and 18-18 in doubles.
