Vannappuram is a village in the Idukki district of state Kerala in India .[1] The village is in the highland regions 28 km east of Muvattupuzha Town and lies north of the Kaliyar River.Geographical Classification of Vannappuram Region is Midland or Idanad.Hindus, Syrian Christians and Muslims co-exist in harmony adding the diversity in faith and religion. The place has a large population of Syrian Catholics.

Demographics

As of 2001 the India census records Vannappuram had a population of 27449 with 13792 males and 13657 females.[1] Vannappuram Panchayath comprises three main areas 1. Vannappuram 2. Kaliyar 3. Mundanmudi ( a hilly area 8 km from Vannappuram ). The block panchayath include 17 wards and the ruling parties, with a narrow margin, are United Democratic Front allied. The village is bordered by panchayaths Karimannoor, Paingootoor, and Kodikulam.
