Veena Devi is a former member of Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Early life

She is from Andama, a village in Darbhanga[1] Bihar, and belonged to the Parmar clan of Rajput who had settled in Bihar after they had migrated from Dhar State.[2] Now that she is married to Dinesh Prasad Singh she belongs to the Somvansh family.

Political career

Veena Devi is a politician from Bihar and a member of the BJP. She is the wife of Dinesh Prasad Singh MLC Muzaffarpur , an ex MLA from Gaighat, Bihar.[3][4]

She became an MLA in the Vidhan Sabha election in 2010 in Gaighat [5] with BJP. She had contested the 2010 Vidhan Sabha elections from Ghaighat Seat on the BJP ticket. She was ex Chairperson from Muzaffarpur and ex Vice Chairperson from Muzaffarpur. She is the wife of Dinesh Prasad Singh, who is Janata Dal (United) MLC and chairman of Vidhan Parishad from Muzaffarpur, who had a record win in MLC elections in Bihar.[6][7] Her daughter in law is the current chairperson of Muzaffarpur.[8]
